Free Dining 2014 Discussion

I always see all sorts of threads about pin code, but don't know how you get them. Need a quick lesson - do I apply somewhere???? I've been to Disney about 15 times, 7 in the last 5 years. Just curious how you get these. HELP!
Did you do the booking or was it booked in someone else's name. The reason I ask is that I have never gotten a PIN. My niece who I have traveled with does get PINs. Since she gets the PIN we book in her name. (Of course, Disney does not know that I do the planning, split the cost etc.) So, I am wondering if people who have booked under their name have a better chance and if I should just go ahead an bite the bullet and book in my name for the next trip. (Hopefully get a general public discount/FD)

I do ALL the planning, paying, reservations, etc. Never received a pin, but sure could use one. I'm not a fan of the Room Discounts and much prefer Free Dining? I did get an email once back in 2010 for Monster Inc. Promo - 40% off rooms which worked out nicely and did a trip with this promotion, but have never seen that type of offer again.

Just Waiting......

I think I saw this somewhere on the board before but could not find it again. If I had previously booked my package with a ticket cost and FD comes out will I need to pay the updated ticket cost or will FD get added to my current package.

Does not really matter as 300 for dining is still well worth it, as it is only a few dollars more than the breakfast at CRT.

Yes, you will have to pay the new prices if you have the package updated to include free dining.

you will be charged the new ticket price if you make any changes to your package.

Newbie question. I've followed along, and I've read back over a lot of pages both here and the previous thread.

We are planning our third trip to WDW in October (18-24). We've done summer and Christmas and now want to go during a comfortable month temperature-wise along with MNSSHP timing.

We, like everyone here, are waiting on FD. If we book now with a room rate discount, can we add the FD later or will we have to re-book? Also, if we were to book now, should we make reservations even without the FD, or do we need to wait on that? I don't want to wait and miss out on it all if there's a chance I'll miss out on a few of our choices.

Thanks in advance everyone!!!!

Hey Joe, just saying.... The amount of pixie dust you just spread about FD will certainly come back to you in triplicates. Thank you for the post, I can sleep peacefully till May

Good news for sure! Hopefully now I can sleep in this Thursday with visions of mountainous piles of free food in my head

So I have finally narrowed down a week that works with both my mom and my schedules (small miracle in itself) 11/29-12/5. Looking back at all of the historical FD offers it looks like we will be blacked out :sad2: After checking on mouse savers it looks like there have been room discounts offered for this time period but I cant seem to find out if there were any black out dates for that offer. Trying to crunch the numbers and decide what type of resort we can book, any insight would be helpful. Disney math gives me a headache:headache:

Did you ever ask a CM if she is named on your Reservation if you can use her promotion? Im sure someone on here will know and I think I did read they have to live at same address but might be worth asking!

While I sit here and wait for news of the FD release, I'm constantly going over our ADRs that we have and changing them. But the only one I wasn't able to get, and I keep checking back for availability, is the Fantasmic Package for Mama Mel's. Is it really booked, or do you think they are holding some tables? I do have the Fantasmic Package for Hollywood & Vine reserved, but we'd prefer MM. We're looking at Tuesday, 9/16.

How many in your party and what time are you looking for. I was just on the site and there was a time open around 3:30. I know that isn't an ideal time, but I think for the Fantasmic package they are all crappy hours. I did mine last month for 9/17 which was 180 + 6 days before and I have 4:30.

the available times for booking the F! are usually lunch time and late afternoon. We chose to go with a 12 noon ADR and then grab CS for dinner.
