So, I'm a family of 5. Was hoping to stay at POR since that was the most reasonably priced resort for 5 people. IF POR is excluded that kind of limits where a big family can stay. I was under the assumption that Disney cannot guarantee connecting rooms at value resorts. Is that correct? So a family of 5is forced into staying at ASMu suites, Cabins, or deluxe resort?? Still crossing my fingers the POR will be included.

They do have family suites at All Stars Music Resort

WHY must they make it so hard for a family of 5? I just don't get it, is it possible they just haven't thought about families of 5?? I know we are a small minority but still kind of frustrating, like someone else said, Im not upset FD isn't today, Im upset about POR... :crazy2: I guess since AOA is out too, maybe ASMu? I don't know... I give up :upsidedow

I'm not keen on staying at Music suites. I haven't stayed there, but have heard some bad reviews. Plus the upgrade charge for dining. Decisions, decisions.

I'm not generally a conspiracy theorist. I was speaking tongue in cheek.

It's probably more likely that the offer is there and some mid level manager is lazy, slept in, and didn't feel like briefing the call center this morning. Or maybe he/she has a young child that got sick, or maybe there was a microwave that caught the break room on fire, or maybe...

I just got off the phone trying again with a new CM and brought up that apparently some people HAD booked the FD this morning. She said that there were some rumors on Dis and other sites that we're saying that, but it was simply not true. So, if you did actually book it, Disney just called you a liar. Why not just say, a CM may have inadvertently applied an incorrect discount rather than just saying it's a lie?

I just called for the heck of it. No wait time on the phone and no deals. $1700 for a stay at Pop for two adults. No thank you!

Did you book POP preferred or standard? Were those both choices?

We like and booked standard and requested bldg 3 but my confirmation says requested bldg 4 so I need to change that since that is actually bldg 4.

Hiddy - again and don't faint that I've come out of "lurking" two times today :thumbsup2 we don't go every year and thus I don't lurk all the time. From wading through this thread, there was no special FD offer to DV holders last year? I also am a new'ish (last year) DV holder and I specifically got it because of the offers that supposedly came with it, is why I'm asking -- because the point rewards are rather "suckie" :)

That said: Way to Keep Us on Our Toes Disney! ... now when do those pesky Hallo tics go on sale (no-no really I know ;) I know "they" say May 5)!

Have a blessed day my fellow Disney addicts.

I specifically got it for the offers as well. I really hope they offer early booking with it. If not, no big deal, but I will cancel it for a better Chase card that offers better rewards :)

I called as well... mainly to ask about a PIN, no FD, no PIN... Personally, I think they may have purposely delayed knowing people would call in and be convinced to book and apply a discount if one came out. I was asked if I wanted to book now and apply the discount later. sneaky, sneaky.

They tried this with me too. I said no thank you. I would wait to see what better deals came out!

Thinking of cancelling our trip. This will break my girls hearts. I am one who booked in advance (sorry), but out of necessity. We are a family of 5 (DH,DD 9, DD 8, DS infant) so we needed a resort that would fit us. We booked POR RR Standard. We also travel with other and when we could not all get into the same resort we switched to this resort (first resort was CSR). Now they are going to exclude one of their largest moderate resorts. We can't afford deluxe and can't fit into value and a family suite is more than a moderate room even a royal room when you factor in the upgrade of the dining plan. Oh well here's hoping this is all a bad dream!! Especially when Disney has been promoting the heck out of POR.

Some peoples vocabulary is very limited. I am sure she meant "I am not sitting it that section, and can not comment on other peoples personal reservations."

Keep in mind that if a resort is excluded, it's because they already have enough bookings for it, and they don't need any promos to fill it. So if POR is excluded, it's because they have plenty of reservations, not that they are trying to exclude families of 5.

Give it some time and see what happens. Nothing is set in stone until the deal releases.

This is the winning answer.
The Mouse is playing hardball this morning.
Bravo.
I especially like the plants.

Technically with an infant you would be allowed in a value if you would want.

Ugh, if POR is in fact excluded. :( We are a family of 5 and are/were really hoping to get in there!

What is the next best option then? Value doesn't work for us because we want to upgrade to the deluxe dining plan. With little ones we like to do as many character and sit downs meals for breaks.

We are planning on moving our dates to get into mid-November free dining. My 2 year old will turn 3 during our trip so technically I suppose we get to still count him as 2 and he can use a pack n play/crib so we're not totally out of luck....just the murphy bed would of been awesome.

I guess Caribbean. Seems a lot have mentioned that as their next option as well, so this should all be interesting! Hopefully we know tomorrow!

Im sorry, this sucks, I know how you feel though, we are a family of 4 but we are taking my niece ( she would never get to go if we didn't take her) this would be her first time... so we are a traveling family of 5.. we did the same thing, booked early so to secure that space for 5... im doing math now.. trying to come up with a way... :confused3

Have you thought about offsite? Bonnet Creek?

We stayed at Bonnet Creek last time and everyone LOVED it. Yes, it was different, but not bad different. We still had a wonderful vacation.
