I had to use my Disney Visa for the deposit - $200.

Great, this would get rid of the thought that there is no "visa" offer, that it might go straight to public

I do notice a trend. Last August everything was right except the Visa date. This time, it's once again the Visa date....hmmm.

I think they like switching that one around, and probably why prior "rumorists" never touched it with a ten foot pole.

Just a thought... what if Disney is getting away from the early release dates for DV for the simple fact they don't have total control or an outside party involved (chase). Then they can switch dates, move thing around and would only effect them directly. Like today for instance. If there were no early release planned not a big deal to just move until tomorrow. But if it was planned as well through Chase that would require them to divulge the details to chase so they could make arrangements as well and would require more of a notice to change. Like i said just thinking....

So I was curious do they release FD to the DV holders first and then to the public?

Usually but last year for the fall they went directly to GP, may be the same thing this year.

This is our first year doing free dining. In the past, has a standard room at AKL been relatively easy to get or will that book up fast? TIA.

The variable is the "paying oop for food". For my part, I could eat snacks and QS all day. My husband tho, is a "foodie". Likes his TS meals. If I try to push for budgeting our dining, I just get labeled the "WDW Scrooge", so it's not worth it. Also, our family includes 2 DS's age 17 and 22- which increases our total food bill over families with little kids. Soooo when I estimated OUR oop food + staying at POR, it may be higher than your oop food.

Well that makes more sense lol .. mine are all under 8

I have a question: I've booked with a pin, but it has since expired so to speak. Can I switch resorts within the pin still since I've booked with it or am I locked into where I'm at now? Thanks!

I was able to last year, kept switching dates.

Ahh, I remember those days! Now we have 3 DS's living at home (only 2 will be at WDW with us). They are 24, 22 and 17 and they all are into body building and high protein foods. You can imagine what our food bill is here at home!!!

Right, but why would the person in charge want to pay overtime for no reason? Plus the OT wouldn't be justified because by 8:00, most people quit calling because we gave up.....

It doesn't, all it does is cost them more money.

I wouldn't be surprised if in the near future Disney really does reevaluate the future of this whole free dining thing. All it does is create more chaos and work for them as people have now come to expect it.

Not meaning to be negative, I'm waiting for December FD too! It's just that every year the wait gets crazier and crazier, and I'm wondering if Disney will soon be done dealing with it all.

I have seen the confirmation. It is dated today, for traveling dates of 9-30 through 10-12 and states magic your way dining - visa.

She got it...no question about it.
