Not trying to be snippy, but am just wondering... why would they? If that is the case, will POR open to the public? I would really consider that a slap in the face as a DV holder.

What if it was added in the last few days because so many DV holders had it pre-booked and canceled? ;)

I was told the reason they have cut out POR and ASM is because they have less than 5% availability during the FD promotion dates and that by law the resorts are required to have at least 30% availability to offer a promotion. I am not saying that is fact, but it is what I was told by someone I consider to be a reliable source. This is due to people pre-booking with the thought that they will add FD later. Out of curiosity, are you a Disney employee or a TA?

Thanks!! pixiedust:

Nope not either but I was told by an employee that Disney has so many rooms available and that they do hold rooms back for the GP. If they did not only Visa card holders would be able to book free dining. How outraged would the rest of the world be if that were the case? I also do not believe there is a law about resorts offering promotions but I could be wrong. Disney usually does not offer promotions if they have less than 30% available rooms but I don't believe this is a law. If they seriously are going to offer only King rooms at CSR and then CBR for GP free dining then they are going to have a whole bunch of upset people come tomorrow morning. And as a non Disney Visa holder I would consider it a slap in the face if all the mod rooms for a free dining promotion went to Visa card holders. I also do not expect that Riverside will open for free dining as this is the only moderate available to families of 5 this resort will more than likely fill up anyway.

Agreed - no law. The person who initially said that to the PP probably meant to say that it was against Disney policy.

Disney does have a different allotment for DV vs GP rooms for FD but only if there are rooms available.
If there is no availability they can't have an allotment.
I am afraid that there were a lot of people that booked after the DV offer came out hoping to secure a room for FD once they started seeing all the Moderate resorts booking.

I will be here here anxiously awaiting to see what all my disfriends get and hoping that everything I just posted is wrong and that rooms magically appear for all of you:rotfl:

It depends what parks you spend a lot of time in, here's why. At Beach Club you can walk into EPCOT through the International Gateway, which people love. You can also take a boat to Hollywood Studios. I've never stayed there so I'm not sure how large the resort itself is.

We stay at the Wilderness Lodge for a few reasons: the resort isn't huge, and ALL the rooms are in the one main building. That means when we get off the bus, we aren't walking outside to buildings strewn all over the resort in the pouring rain (September, anyone???). It's our FAVORITE resort precisely because of this small size and the indoor corridors. You can take the boat RIGHT to the gate at Magic Kingdom. Neither the monorail nor the buses get you as close as the boat does. Sometimes we take the monorail from there and transfer at the TTC to Epcot.

I've stayed at the Contemporary- which is amazing- if you're in the tower. We don't like garden view because the rooms are strewn about the back of the resort- more walking.

Thanks! DD loves HS and Epcot as well as MK. Her favorite is HS. I like the price of the Wilderness but not the decor. But the boat would be great. I do NOT want to walk at the resorts. I walk enough at the parks! Seems Garden is not a viable choice then...So confused and I hate to book one and then ask the TA to change it. :confused3

I am sure you are right about that... her words were "legally able to do that," but it does make sense to me that it is a Disney policy and not a law. Would think hotels could do what they want to with their rooms and prices. ;)

Heya,
Quick question. I was thinking spending two days at US and one at Kennedy.
If I got a 9 night stay and only 6 days of tickets, how would the dining plan work?
Would I just get dining on the 6 days that I'm in the park?
And I know this is a question for different forum, but if any one has suggestions on how best to get to US and the Space Center while staying at Disney resort, I'd appreciate it.

You get the DP for how many nights you stay. If you are booking 9 nights, you would get 9 days of credits. Not affected by how many days of tickets you buy.

I'm sure this has been addressed numerous times over, but does anyone know when the promotion will be available online? Midnight or early in the AM? This is my first time trying to snag a big promotion. I'm CST.

Thanks!!

Thanks! I'm a little surprised by that. It seems almost generous. :goodvibes
If I changed my mind and cut my stay at Disney short to go to US's hotel, it wouldn't affect my FD would it? They wouldn't have to rebook the room basically?

You should be able to shorten your stay without problems as long as you are before the 45 day window. Of course if you end up staying 5 nights instead of 9 nights, you will get 5 days of credits, not 9.

I am such a bundle of nerves about tomorrow morning. I really hope just adding on the free dining goes smoothly. Just checking but 407-939-7639 is the number right? and what exactly am I going to need tomorrow? My Reservation # and anything else?
First timer here, so sorry if my questions are silly.

Your reservation number and any other backup plan in case what you are currently booked doesn't have openings with the FD promotion. For instance, if you have a standard room booked but all standard rooms aren't available for FD, you'd have to pick a different room category or resort, etc. Not likely to be a problem if booking early, but always wise to have a second choice to give the CM if your first choice isn't available.
