Free dining 2012 dates?

Typically, is free dining usually offered during the dates of the Food and Wine Festival? We will be going to WDW in early October 2012, and would like to book as soon as the event dates are posted for next year, but would love to get the free dining plan.

Yes, if your resort has openings for the FD. You may have to switch resorts if there's no availability at yours.

I don't understand, if I have a reservation (including dining) at POFQ, why would it ever be necessary to switch resorts if free dining is offered?

Only a certain number of rooms are available for the free dining special. Even though you have an exhisting ressie, if all the rooms with the FD are already booked, they will tell you there is no availability and you would have to look at other resorts that have the FD promotion rooms available.

Yep. Think of it like Target. Stores everywhere but some sell out of an item faster than others so you go to the Target that has it in stock. If a resort *has* the FD rooms in stock, you can get the FD rate.

Thats when I am hoping to book another trip...the week after Thanksgiving. I am also hoping for free dining. Looks like they have offered it for the past couple of years (on Mousesavers). I sure hope they offer it....thats the best discount for our family of 6!!!
