For you guys that have been calling to check, do you call the reservations number or a different phone number?

Also, I'm traveling with a few family members that all have a Disney account, planning DVD, etc. so they should all be in the system. Can I check for everyone in my party (myself, DH, my mom & my brother)? I booked us together, but we all have different ressie numbers, of course.

We have done many discounts. As far as I understand things are changing in 2011. It used to be if you checked in during a promo period you got the promo the entire trip. As far as I understand that is no longer the case. It applies only to the dates listed. We have used promo every trip but this one. There has been 3/4, 4/3, and too many free dining to list. Yes it does make a difference if a discount is offered we tend to go the same weeks over the years if there is a deal crowds are big. You should also check to see what special events may be planned for your trip. This last one had the princess marathon, feb vacation week for the NE, cheer comps, ect which truly did effect crowd levels. Years when we have had the free dining crowds are big. We did the qsdp and have to say I think I like it better. It is tough being tied to a park. We have always done tsdp and I dont think I would go back to it.

Sept 12 - 19 ~ 2 rooms and I booked CSR (Coronado ~ that's the right acronym right? Yes...Disney virgin) We're a family of 7 ~ 3 adults and 4 kids.

I was willing to stay POP and pay the roughly $10 to upgrade to TS but she encouraged me to go moderate for free TS. Sooo....if for some reason the she directed me wrong and the mods get free QS then I'll switch to a value.

Does that make sense....please tell me if I'm off track ~ lol. My budget is 4500 and I came in right under with the CSR.

I just called reservations and the CM said that there was a pin on my name from between May and December for Free QS dining or upgrade to TS for $10 and it's available to those who are interested in staying more than 4 nights. He then checked availability for us and told me it wasn't available based on our room or something, idk, but I was kind of disappointed. Back to the drawing board tomorrow!

The CM I talked to was kind of a jerk. He emphatically said he couldn't tell me whether there was anything else that wasn't current. And I said (very sweetly), "Well can you tell me whether there is one you can't tell me about?" And he said, "I absolutely cannot." So I guess I'm calling back tomorrow to check.

Does anyone know if there is a limit on how far you can upgrade free dining? For example, if I am staying at a value, which has free QS, can I go up to DlxDP, or can I only go to regular DP?

Disney never turns down your money. You can pay the difference and upgrade to any of the other DDPs.

I have a hard time believing that all the resorts were sold out for your fd pin code. Did they check for availability at other resorts?

We already have a reservation booked, so he just checked for that reservation cuz my DH is not willing to move to another resort, he's quite stubborn about his vacation I guess. Anyway, we probably won't get many pins that will work cuz we're staying in a THV and most of them are excluded on the pins that I've gotten. My DH loves the remoteness of them and there isn't any other resorts secluded like that so that's why we chose the THV's.

I just got off the phone with a CM. She told me the only PIN I had was the percent off discount that I am currently booked with. When I mentioned a FD PIN she told me that if I am booked using a PIN with one discount then I most likely will not recieve another PIN till after my vacation. I really hope thats not the case!

Well, I guess if you are going to be spending a lot of time in your resort, I can totally understand that. We just basically sleep and shower at our resort and I don't think there isn't a resort my husband wouldn't change to to save us $1,500.00 - but he's cheap that way

The waiting is killing me. Im not waiting for a PIN, Ive never gotten one and at this point dont expect to. I guess Im just waiting for the Free Dining to be announced to the public. So I continue to wait...wait...wait...

I have done free dining twice in the past 3 years and the crowds were never big in September. We waited max 20 for a ride and got all the ADR's we wanted. Not sure when you went but it was not like that for us.
