I'm hearing a lot about Free Dining packages, does anyone know anything about them, like when they are and how you get them?

We're going next week, but we'd like to book a trip for next year, and the free dining sounds too good to pass up.

I believe the bounceback offer is over, the last date to book was 10/24. (That offer had to be booked while staying at a WDW resort, it could not be booked from home.)

The most likely outcome is that you will need to wait until next April, which is historically when the package offers for free dining in August/September were released for booking by the general public. But there's no knowing what kind of offers WDW will put out for next year if they are going to have trouble filling the rooms as opposed to the past few years, when they had no trouble filling rooms.

Since 2005, Disney has been offering the Free Dining promo for Magic Your way packages with a 3 night minimum and a 14 day maximum (Basic Dining Plan; 1 TS, 1 CS, 1 Snack per person per night) during the last part of August until the end of September, give or take a few days. The free dining offer is usually announced during the first week of April. The first couple of days it will only be open to Disney Visa holders and then will open up to the general public.

Last month Disney Destinations sent out some emails that offered free dining pin codes for select dates in October, November and December. These emails were random, not for the general public, and the codes were non-transferrable. Last week Disney Visa send out a free dining code for their card holders for the same select dates in October, November and December. These pin codes are not part of the Fall Dining promotion.

Disney Visa is also offering free dining for select dates through Dec 20. I don't recall all the dates but you should check and see if your dates are included. There are also many room onlly codes for the general public. Make sure if you can't get the free dining you are getting the best rate on your room. Check for the actual codes on Mousesavers.com.

So I just need to get a disney visa card?

YOu can apply for the card via a link on WDW site and get a bonus $40. You can book via a link once approved and then call and apply the free dining if it's during your travel dates. You can go to the Disney Visa site and look at the offer first if you like, but I would apply via the WDW link for the bonus dollars if it were me. Another way to receive a bonus is by being referred by a current Disney Visa holder, both people receive a $25 bonus, thus $50 in total freebies. You do have to apply the code to get the free dining which is on the Disney Visa site and also listed on Mousesavers.com. I can't recall the 3 letter code, it may have been QXZ.
