Free Dining 2008 Watch

Bama, yes it is huge!! I love it though!!:cloud9:

I gave up on SW. I was so scared, their prices would stay high, due to gas prices. I booked with Jetblue. 676.00 for four r/t tickets. Even, though. I have to drive into the city 45 minutes. I still thought it was better than the higher price on SW. Plus, I get roomier seats, and tv to boot. :goodvibes

Southwest is supposed to open up booking through Oct. on April 17 I think....

Thanks...Do you know if they open up the fares at 12:00 am on that date?

I tried Airtran. Go numbers going down, but it was very high on the return flight.

Is the $57 per person per night the price for children also?

I just learned about this today and am trying to talk DH into it!

Got my DV offer at 14:00:35

From 1 DH to another, tell him it's FREAKIN GREAT!!!!! I never thought as an adult it would or could be so much fun. It's almost every kind of vaca you can do all rolled into one! And endless dining and drinking options! Will be my 3rd time in 4 years :O

Just booked 3 nights @ AS Movie preferred room 3 nights with free dining. 8 / 28 - 8/31. And then off to DVC WL for 3 nights no dining. Already have AP so had to buy 2 park passes(my daughter and I) for 1 day. Told I can apply them toward my next AP, just not to use them and then I would have to purchase AP at a park to figure in the discount down the road when i buy AP again. Total cost 472.20 no insurance. Had to use Disney Visa to pay for it.:goodvibes

I think you came out better. You really don't need the kitchenette that much if you are on free dining. And with 2 rooms at Pop you get real beds. No one needs to sleep on pull outs. You don't have to mess with folding them up each day, and pulling them out when you are exausted at night. You aren't going to be in the room much to need the living area. I prefer 2 rooms. My kids would never deal with the pull outs.

I dont know if this is true with my family because none of the 4 kids will sleep in the same bed as each other!! Me and my husband they will sleep with but they will sleep on the floor (and have actually done this!!) rather than share a bed. The Family Suites had 5 beds and I was bringing a blow up twin which we needed for staying at my BIL beforehand anyway.

Also....now my summer vacation looks like this....

1-2 nights brother-in-law
2-3 nights HRH
4 -5 nights ASMU Family Suites
6 nights Pop Century

If I dont want to completely change resorts I have to give up the Family Suites or switch to Pop for those nights or stay off-site.....it just would have made my decision for me if the suites were included....now I have to figure out which is best and I am tired of figuring out accommodations....I want to move on to other stuff....like which days we are going where lol

You might want to check back if you really want the Family Suites. i just booked it this morning for 9/4-9/8. Got my email confirmation that shows free dining. I also talked to two different agents and they both said it qualified. Price for 6 people(one of them under 2), 4 nights in a family suite, 5 base tickets and free dining was $1200. HTH!

AH NO WAY...maybe it is the dates....mine are earlier....I will try though.

They will release more on Thursday for General public. So I wouldn't worry about it. Call right at 7am(Eastern) and you will be on hold for a while but I am sure you will get POP.

Just wondering... if they hold rooms for the GP, then why release it early for DV members as if it's a benefit. If they are still holding out rooms for the GP, then what benefit is it for the DV holders who can't get a room? Just pondering this....:surfweb:

Someone please explain this to me it says $104.00 per day at saratoga springs....what does that price include? Does it include the park pass, dining, and room? Because as I scrolled down I seen ADD ON DINING but I thought that was part of the deal...someone explain please.

Thanks

I think it is "per person", based on 4 (to children, 2 adults).

I know that during that season it is almost $300.00 rack rate to add one night in a SSR Studio, we were going to extend our trip by one day there last year but bailed when we heard the rate!

I believe the prices they are listing are the basic package, the price per person based on a family of four, for a MYW package.

I feel bad that so many are still on hold. I started continous redialing at 6:57(4:57 my time). Got through a ,minitute or two before 7:00. Stayed on hold for about 8 minitues, before called was answered. I turned 40 today, but won't have time to be depressed about it. I am too excited, I got free dining. I was going to cancel my res. if I didn't get it, because I would rather go in the winter months during a long weekend, to minimize the days my daughter will miss school. Free dining makes taking her out of school worth it for me.

I think it really depends on what you answer when asked about how many trips to Disney you have taken. I don't know if you are answered more quickly if you had over a certain number of trips or dropped into a queue if you had less or what. I know that the school of thought is that it is more cost effective to keep existing customers than to try and get new ones, but I don't know their business model. In any event, I'm sure your answer to the number trips is definitely related to how quickly your call is answered.

Got the DV email. Confused and need to make a decision in the next 24 hours....$104 per person/per night at SSR (studio). Is it $104 per person/per night for ANY studio at a deluxe villa resort?? BTW, I spoke with a CM and he said I could get any studio but not sure if he understood what I was asking ($104 for any studio).

I still haven't received my Disney Visa email yet but it doesn't matter because I booked this morning :woohoo: with the help of my new friends at DIS Boards! Thank you for the great info and help. :worship:

(Now I wonder when that email will finally come telling me to book my free dining!) :rotfl:

I am glad to see that everyone else is as excited about their trips as I am about mine:cool1: My friends think that I am just a big kid.:woohoo:

I called right at 7 am and was on hold for exactly an hour. But all that matters is that I got it. We are staying at Contemporary for 4 nights. Last year we stayed at por and this year our trip is almost 1000 dollars more.:scared:

Hope everyone has a great time:cheer2: :dance3:

I have a DV and never got the email either.

The only time we can go for free dining is Labor Day weekend, so I booked 3 nights at POP. I had to buy 1 day tickets since we are season ticket holders. I booked Chip & Dale's buffet for Saturday dinner (anyone ever been there? LOL) and CRT for Sunday breakfast. I was on the phone less than 30 minutes total. Woo hoo!

When I called DH and told him I just booked our 4th trip for this year, he said I am jonesin' for Mickey. LOL
