Free Dining 2008 Watch

Ok here is what I did….
I called yesterday s/w CM Fulton, he checked the for a code w/my name and couldn’t find one. I asked him to look again w/my maiden name and old address since I haven’t been to Disney since ’05. After holding awhile he said he had good news to make me smile …40% off the room. When I had called the other day I did the same thing but that CM said he saw a code w/my old name but that had expired.

So we were quoted $1,589.62 for a moderate 9/17-9/27/08 (2 adults & 1 free 1yr old) 9day MYW passes w/the waterpark & more. (does anyone think this is a good deal?)

He was really pushing me to purchase the Basic Dining Plan with that our cost would have been $2,349.42. And he kept saying its not a guarantee that Free dining offer will come out.

I asked he quote me what I would have paid without the 40% code but everything else the same w/no dining…$2,260.00.

So it would be a better deal to get the free dining then the 40% off, Since FREE dining not yet announced I thought it better to take the 40% off in case it never is.

CM also said if I change my mind and want to add the dining to ask for code AHT does anyone know why I would have to use a code if I was going to pay for dining?

Another question I have w/the 9day myw w/waterpark fun how many waterpark/pleasure island days do you have and do they take away from the days @ the main parks? CM wasn’t sure. And should I change my myw pass to a 10 or 11 day pass to accommodate 10 or 11 days of meals should we get the ddp?

You would need a code because the code that they normally give is a room only code and they find other codes to link your entire package so you get the percentage off everything so if you were to add free dining instead of the CM having to look for the code yoy would say when i called the cm told me if I added free dining to my package to give you this code***it basically makes it quicker for you and the CM!

Where do you subscribe to get this information? I heard you can only get the dining if you book through Disney, is that true? I have my trip booked for Sept and am waiting to hear, they told me I can add since I booked through Disney.

Does anyone know when the Not so scary Halloween starts this year?

Thanks so much.:cool1:

If Disney offers free dining anyone can get it if opened to general public
Also assumptions on these boards are that MNSSHP is going to start possibly as early as the 5th of September I don't think the dates are official yet.

Mommytoone, you do not have to book with Disney direct. Last year we booked through our local travel agent. Silly us did not book the bounceback, so we are waiting to see if they offer free dinig again.

i would love to have free dining. is the dining plan the same as last year. have there been any changes, we were there in november.

Free dining would include the 2008 basic dining plan. The main change in that from last year is: tips are no longer included in the price of the plan, and adult table service meals no longer include an appetizer (children's menu meals do) unless the appetizer is part of a fixed-price standard offering (or a buffet, where the full buffet is included).

There is now a deluxe dining plan which does include adult appetizers (plus other incentives). It may be possible to get the deluxe plan with a free dining package by paying the difference between the basic and deluxe plans. No knowing for sure until Disney makes an offer.

Just hung up with a marketing manger, she said start looking at the disney sites april 5th through april 11th. Free dining will take place most likely on THURSDAY APRIL 10TH. She also stated the last two years they went live with the free dining was indeed on a thursday. Four night stay on disney property and at least 1 day park pass is required rooms are very limited. The dates are not set in stone but looking at august 23rd through september 30th. rooms are limited at ALL disney resorts. :cheer2:
I got this info by pure luck she is new to disney and just started to rattle on when I asked her. I originally called for info about a w.i.s.h. program. This is also for NEW RESERVATIONS ONLY.I asked for existing reservations if they will change the code and her answer was No the promo will state new reservations only to get the promo. Lots of luck guys I will be glued.

Consider keeping your source "private". You can edit your post to remove the name.

Thanks for sharing some good news!

I was wondering if anyone can tell me about the codes that people on here keeptalking about that are attached to their names? How do you get one and how do you know if you have one?

Sorry for this being off topic!
