Free Dining 09

When do you have to book your trip to get the free dining plan in 09? Is free dining still in early sept? And if you book to stay at Swan/Dolphin is it included?

Last year free dining was booked between April 10th and June 22nd. It was for the last week of August through the 3rd week of Sept.

I don't think the Swan and Dolphin would be included since you can't even buy the dining plan when you stay there.

The free dining plan fall dates are usually announced the first week of April. Swan and Dolphin are not Disney owned properties so they do not qualify for the free dining promo.

Also, if you just returned from an on-site WDW vacation, you could have booked a bouncepack for next year. Anyone that is staying in WDW during the current 2008 free dining promo can book a free dining bounceback for next fall. The 2009 bounceback dates are August 23 - October 8 and the offer is good through October 24, I believe. All you had to do was call from your resort room.

Its actually for my in laws to join us next year. We'll stay at the beach club villas again but i know they wanted to go with something less expensive and where they can get a discount.

I have read previous posts here on the DIS that you cannot get Free Dining with the Land Sea cruise package. For example this answer froma moderator here to a poster asking about FD and the DCL:

Unfortunately the promotions offered on WDW packages are not available on the cruise land/sea packages as they are booked in separate systems.

While you can add the dining plan to the 2008 land/sea reservations, you would not be able to add any dining promotion that is being offered on WDW stays.

But things change all the time, so you should check with DCL to be sure that still is their policy. Good luck!
