Free Dining 07- Who DIDN'T ge a bounceback offer?

Just curious... I knew there was supposed to be a bounceback offer in our room while we were there for free dining in 07, but we never saw one- could have called up the front and inquired, but figured- it would be too tempting so I did the FINANCIALLY mature thing to do!

Did any other people not get the bounceback offer in their rooms? I'm just being curious- LOL!

We didn't see it in our room, but I saw flyers around the grounds (literally - on the ground) at POFQ where we were staying. I also had heard about it from other DISers, but like the OP, we weren't planning a trip back. Now we are, but it wouldn't have fallen under the bounceback anyways, so still hoping for free dining or 40 % off the last week of August. (don't know if we will go that week without a pretty hefty discount.)

on our last night at WDW, we came back to our room really late - like 11:30pm or 12am. got kids bathed and in bed. much later i noticed a flyer on our table in room. it was too late to think about the offer and we left early the next AM. i sooooo wish disney would have put that offer in our room earlier on in our trip...

We didn't receive a flyer either so I called them when I got home to complain. They decided to offer it to me but my son was real upset about some things that happened while there that he said he didn't want to go.

We didn't receive the offer either. That's okay though because we wouldn't have used it.

We were there during free dining, but not on it, due to scheduling changes and the offer being no longer offered when we made our reservation. We never saw anything about the bounceback, which we would have booked immediately. Now we're planning to go to Disney this September, and just hoping free dining is offered.

How does a bounce back offer ususally work? Is it signficant savings?

I believe it is an offer that you must book before you check out. In this case, you would have been able to sign up for free dining for Sept. 08, back in Sept. 07. With rumors going around about not offering free dining to the general public now, this could be significant. As far as actual dollar savings, I'm not sure if there are any, perhaps you did get to pay 07 rates, even though the trip would be in 08? But, I'm not sure, never have had a bounceback offer.

I think the savings was free dining- if you do the dining plan, it would have been nice to bounceback! I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't receive a flier- I wanted to call about it, really badly, but knew if I did- I couldn'r say no!

We knew about the bounceback offer before we left and were looking for the papers in the room at POFQ, but we never had the flier.

My in-laws did get the paper on their table in the room in the middle of the week and they were only about 4 rooms away

Needless to say we did schedule the bounceback for 9/6-9/13/08 and got the free dining. BTW it was 2008 rates.

A couple weeks ago we extended the stay by 1 day and added a split stay towards the end (moving to Polynesian). Since this was booked as a separate stay we were a little concerned that free dining would not be available for the "new" reservation.

My wife talked to a great phone CM and she talked to a supervisor and got us free dining with a dead code for the Poly part of our stay as well.

Just have to pay off the $200 deposit this month with no interest on my Disney Visa.

I did not receive the flyer in my room, but knew about it from the DIS. I went to the front desk and asked about it and she gave me the flyer.

I didn't receive paperwork in my room, I received it at check in. The CM who checked us in even explained it to me and told me what to do to take advantage of it. The dates were kind of wonky though, they weren't starting it until September, no end of August like they usually do, and both my nieces will be in school this September and we didn't know what day school started so we decided not to do it and just wait it out. We're now booked with a 40% off room rate code and waiting to see if they offer free dining.

We didn't receive an offer while we were there last August, and I didn't know about it until we got back,,,but at that point we weren't really planning another trip. Then I was lucky enough to get 40%, so we rebooked! I don't know until its offered if 40% or Free Dining would be a better deal for us...my guess is we'd stick with the 40% since we're staying at the Wilderness Lodge.

It is one or the other. We're going to wait and see if and when they offer it what gives us the best savings. I think it will be to keep the 40% off and pay for DDP, but we are still waiting to be certain.

we never received an offer while there last Sept. although we were aware of it. when we got home, my wife called about it and after a little persistence on her part, they offered us the bounceback promotion & we gladly accepted it

We had the flyers in our room, and so I booked us - I have to call now and see if I can change my dates. And my prayer is that it's not a flipping hot as it was last year - seriously, it was unbearable - it was so hot that I almost didn't book the bounceback.
