Ok, I just do not get it. I love Universal. So, I looked at a way to squeeze it in for my upcoming 13 night trip to Disney.

So, I figured. I would stay @ Disney from Sept 23rd- Oct 2nd. Check into the RPH the 2nd until Oct 6th. For the free dine promo. The package price for 4 nights is amost 1800. I just do not get how this is a good value at all. Are people actually paying this, or are you combining it with some other kind of discount.:confused3

I could stay for 9 nights at a value for this price. How is dining in the parks free?

2 adults, and 2 kids (4&6)

445 per night. Come on?

That does sound high. What kind of room is it? Standard, deluxe, or a suite? I'm sure that package includes park tickets as well. I just checked the Universal website, and a water view room during that time is $231/night.

I would get a price on a room only reservation, figure in the cost of the $79.99 advance purchase tickets on the Universal website, and buy your own food. You'll come out a lot better.

I looked into the free dining also and found it to be way too expensive. I already bought my package for the end of August, but I wanted to compare to see how much it would be for the free dining. Turns out, "Free dining" isn't really free. I took my package and then added the cost of how much it would be if I bought the meal deal plan for each person in my party, times the amount of days and the cost was pretty darn close to the amount quoted for the so called "free dining." Free? I don't think so....... You're still paying for it.

remember me?????

you'll be at the motherland and the darkside when i will be this year.

remember how last year you said you wanted to hit hhn someday.....

how about when you go in october this year?

now back to your original question, it is cheaper to do it all separate and not a package.

if you have AAA, you can snag a room at a better price for your dates in october at rph.

tickets can be bought online at a cheaper price.

we will talk about the food portion later...

good to see you here

i am not paying any extra for my meal deal package - i booked my stay through liberty travel in feb 08 for a stay in october 08 and it was automatically added to my package with no addl cost.

Yes, they are definitely charging you for the food. Not even a standard room at the Portofino is as costly as the daily price you were quoted.

I suggest you take macraven's advice and book thru AAA. I figure, if you search for a good price, the best rate would be give or take, $250.00 a night x 4 nights= $1,000.00.

Why are they charging you an extra $800.00? You should really call them and ask them. It seems totally unfair to me. A family of four that includes "2 small children that don't eat much" will not cost you $800.00 in 5 days.

You could use the extra money they are overcharging you. The economy right now sucks. Don't settle for that. Save your money, trust me.

Macraven. Of course I remember you. Who wouldn't?

I think what it looks like is. I am going to just stay on Disney, and go to HHN, for one of my down days alone. Leaving the hubby, and the kiddos on Disney. I am looking at Sept 30th, Oct 2, or Oct 4th. Will have to see which day looks best. I was thinking Sept 30th. But, that is a tuesday. I do not even think HHN is running then. Do you know they speculated dates this year Mac? And what is the rumored theme?

from what i know, you will hit one of the dates HHN is happening.
can't say anything about the theme yet but i did take the survey for this year and that gives a hint of this year's theme.

if you check one of the other threads i posted on, you will get a lot more info on this years hhn.......
