Free DDP

I've read lots of people saying that they booked their WDW holiday and got free DDP.
I booked in July so I think I booked too early to get this offer.
What exactly did you have to book to get the free DDP? Just a Disney resort or a whole package?
I've booked through expedia so all the aspects of my trip are separate. Would I be able to get a free DDP through expedia?
Also how much does the DDP save? Is it worth cancelling the hotel booking and then rebooking to save money?

Actually you booked too late. I can't quite remember but I think the deadline was late May or early June. The free DDP is no longer available at this time but you did have to book a Magic your way package, which basically is just a room and at least a 1 day ticket.

Thanks I've been pondering over this for ages! Kept wondering whether or not to cancel and rebook! That's really eased my mind

This is the second year they've done the free dining, they do it during hurricane season to try and get people in the parks. It really is a great deal, we skipped it this year because we wanted to go at Christmas time, but we've already been hearing rumors of them offering the free dining again next year, so we're going to wait and see what happens and probably book another trip with the free dining in 07.

Basically, the deal runs from mid August through early October. You have to book a Magic Your Way Package with at least one day park ticket for each person on the plan. They don't offer discounts on room rates during that time though, but it's still worth it IMO.

They usually announce free dining around May, so keep your ears open next year!!

Actually, since you're from the UK I believe Disney is offering its guests from the UK free dining in 2007. I would check with a Travel Agent in your area or call Disney directly.

I believe that you have to book a package for Aug/Sept 2007. You can purchase as little as a one day ticket, an onsite room(including value) and you will get free dining for the duration of your stay for each person in your party.

Actually the requirement is at least 5 day stay. Again, this package is for UK residents only at this time.

" Feeding your family just got easier. Now when you purchase a package including a five-night or more stay at a select Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and a five-day or more Theme Park Ticket, you receive the Disney Dining Plan for free.

Book between August 25 and November 6, 2006 for arrivals between August 12 and September 29, 2007 to get this delicious deal."
