Free DDP with 3 adults in a room?

What happens during free dining when there are more that two adults in a room?

This is our current plan-
Room One- 2 adults & 1 child
Room Two- 3 adults

Is there an up charge for the 3rd adult in room two? TIA

Everyone receives free dining, but everyone has to be on the same package. You will pay rack rate for the room. If you already have a room discount, you will need to run the numbers on which works better for you - deluxes tend to go better on room discounts and mods/values tend to go better with free dining.

You will pay an extra adult fee per night for the third adult (rooms are based on double occupancy) depending on what level resort you are staying at - you didn't note that I can see.

The more adults on free dining on one room, gives you more bang for your buck......the third adult fee is minimal compared to the actual room for two adults and you are essentially getting three meal plans.

Thanks. I have two room only reservations right now that I booked on Expedia UK. Each room cost the same to reserve. So, I assume the nominal extra charge for the 3rd adult is a Disney direct thing.

Now, I wait to see what happens... that's the part I hate

Two rooms means two reservations. You would have to have the free dining on both reservations. Everyone in each room would receive the free dining if that is the case. If you wanted to limit it to one room, then only the persons registered in that room (all of them) would have the dining. They could not share the dining credits with the persons in the other room.

You can't get free dining (or even a dining plan) on a booking made through Expedia. You would have to cancel those bookings and rebook a package through Disney to apply free dining. Disney will charge you a nightly fee for the third adult in the room.

Yes the extra adult would get the dining. Everybody registered in a room will be on the same package.

All rooms on-site are based on double occupancy (standard in the hotel industry), whether you are paying full rack rate, FD, RO, Room discount, etc. It is always the same.

Values are $10.00 per night per extra adult.
Moderates are $15.00 per night per extra adult.
Deluxes are $25.00 per night per extra adult.

You must comply with room occupancy.

whether you get free dining or not when there's more than 2 adults in a room you will be charged extra.
i believe the amount of the extra fee is determined by which resort you are in.

Thanks for the info on free dining. I think were we may not be connecting is on "adult"... We have one legal adult (over 18) and two "Disney adults" in room two. So, for dining I have one room with three adults, Disney dining-wise.

I can tell you why go received the answers you got - we answered your first question about the free dining and the number of adults for occupancy.

You posted again asking about "room two" which I considered you were asking about a second room with more than one adult, in addition to the first room.

Just a communication mix-up.

oh ok. yeah it sounded like you had 3 people over the age of 18 in one room.
if one is 18+ and 2 are 17 and under then there is no extra fee for the room and it still does not have effect on free dining.

Dining adults are not the same thing as resort adults.

Dining adults are 10 and over.

Resort adults are 18 and over.

If the third adult is under the age of 18 there will not be any third adult charge on the room and everybody gets adult free dining.

Nope, not a direct thing, but an Expedia bug. You're being charged the extra adult fee for the child on one reservation. Disney charges extra for a third adult, but Expedia collects the extra charge for any third person. So, by booking the child in one room, you're actually overpaying for that room. If you book two people in a room, you should be able to call Expedia, who will call Disney and add the child for no additional charge.
