Free DDP reviews! Photos and lots 'o opinions! Updated 11/5 with 50's PT

Great reviews and photos - thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

Why don't they just let you pay adult price for large kids meals, there must be some picky adults out there that want to do it.

ITA with you chocolateMinnie. It would be in WDW's favour to use an adult credit for a kid's meal, so I really can't see a problem there. :confused3
I am also one of those picky adults who likes to have plain burgers, chicken tenders, etc while at WDW. :rolleyes1

Thanks for reading the reviews, and for posting! :goodvibes

I've never ordered a kid's meal at a ts, but I have ordered kid's meals at cs locations now and then when I wasn't that hungry. It would be nice if adults could order a kid's meal (perhaps for an additional fee and a bigger portion) at ts restaurants in an adult would like to do so.

I love your review. I think your kids have very good habits. I notice they usually drink milk or water, not soda!

Also, it sounds rediculous for me that Whispering Canyon won't let your daughter use a adult credit to order a kid's meal. It was actually in their favor and I really can't understand why not....

I will subsribe from this point on.

Great reviews - really enjoyed them. We stayed at ASMu last August and found the food court to be one of the better ones on property. Your steak at Coral Reef looked absolutely divine - got me craving a big, juicy steak now.

Thanks so much for your great reviews!

I am also going with my kids next month (9 and 11) and DH may not come along. I've gone 3 times without him before, and the kids and I still enjoy ourselves so much! It will also be our first time with (free) dining plan!

I also like the 50's Prime Time - the chicken is good! Once DD (then 6) and I wanted to share an order, they were nice enough to bring it out on two plates, with sides for each, and no extra charge! It was so nice, and one piece of chicken was enough for each with the potatoes and green beans.

Thanks again!

Thanks for subscribing! The kids did have a couple of sodas as a treat, but you're right about the water and milk. That is what they drank for most of their meals.

Thanks! I was pleasantly surprised with how good the AS Music food court was and we enjoyed our meals there. And that Coral Reef steak was *so yummy!*

This was the 2nd time the kids and I went to WDW without dh. We missed him, but we still had a fun trip. Next time, he'll be coming with us. :goodvibes

I was impressed with the service at 50's in that they offered dd anything off the kid's menu with an adult portion. It's a fun atmosphere, too!

Have a great trip with your kids!

I hope to do my Chefs de France review soon!

I'm really enjoying your reviews! The crazy thing is that if you were willing to use an adult credit for a childs meal, they should have agreed happily! Being in the hands of the server to decide struck me oddly also.
In that circumstance you may have been better off buying your dd kids meals and actually using the extra ts credits for more sit down meals. Is this allowed?

Great update. I really like your bonus pics, too!

Absolutely wonderful reviews! I had kind of turned my nose at 50s Prime Time but after reading your review I really think we will give it a try! It sounds like so much fun. And Coral Reef is a definite now too!

ABC Commissary isn't one of our favorite counter services places at WDW, but we end up eating here for every trip because it's in a convenient location, it has a/c, and it's rarely busy. We did attempt to eat at Backlot Express on this trip and the lines there were too long. We headed over to ABC Commissary and walked right up to the counter.

Me: Asian salad, strawberry parfait, water
Ds: Fried fish and fries, chocolate mousse, water
Dd: (kid's meal) chicken nuggets & fries, cookie, and water

I didn't care for the salad. It was mostly iceburg lettuce and the dressing was bland. Usually an entree salad even at counter service places has an option to add grilled chicken and the option to add chicken (or any other meat) wasn't offered here. It was a boring, not-too-good salad that I will not order again. On the flip side, the strawberry parfait tasted fresh and was flavorful! I was pleasantly surprised with enjoying the dessert.

The kids said that their meals were OK. I tried a half of one of dd's chicken nuggets and didn't care for it. She didn't mind, but to me it was more of a "nugget" with a processed taste than a "chicken tender" with a fresh taste. Ds liked his fish & fries, though he's pretty easy to please with just about any food. :)

Anyway, it was a quick lunch and we did enjoy the a/c break. I'm sure we'll be hitting ABC Commissary again for the a/c, short lines, and location. : ) Eating in a/c on a super hot day is refreshing!

I love this Mr. Potato Head! His interactions with the crowd are great!
What is on top of the strawberry parfait? It looks like chocolate chips or raisins.

In that circumstance, that is probably allowed but having 1 table service meal/day was plenty for us.

Our next trip to WDW is in the works, but we're not doing the dining plan, unless it unexpectedly is offered for free :). We'll be doing more cs meals, and dd should be able to order kid's meals OK without dining plan restrictions.

Great update. I really like your bonus pics, too!

I was extremely pleased with both 50's PT and Coral Reef. I'd eat at either place again without hesitation. I hope you enjoy those places too! :wizard:

Those were blueberries.

I feel bad that I haven't finished my reviews yet and I was saying that I'd do Chefs soon. I will try to catch up soon! :dance3:
