Someone else on dis reviewed the new school bread..it does have toasted coconut on it. I hope it's as good as the original!!

That is the perfect quote!! "Happy kids=Happy Vaca" We try to do the same thing...if the family needs a break (swimming or whatever) we just do it. I don't want to ever be one of those parents in line yelling at the kids "You are in Disney and YOU WILL have fun!"

Loving your reviews so far!! Thanks!:flower3:

Thanks! :goodvibes And I do think it's true that Happy Kids = A Happy Vacation. :)

I hope so, too! I did like the original version. Thanks for reading my reviews!

We had to hit an Animal Kingdom counter service on our departure day for lunch, and Pizzafari was the choice for a/c and location. We've never been here before, and it was pretty good.

To Share: An entree chicken Caesar salad (we had credits to use up since we skipped dinner in favor of ice cream one night) and an order of breadsticks (leftover snack credit)
Me: Pepperoni pizza, apple pie, water
Ds: Plain Pizza, chocolate cake, water
Dd: Plain Pizza, chocolate cake, milk

The pizza appeared to have whole wheat crust, but it tasted OK and didn't fall apart. The salad was good. It's funny--at Toy Story Pizza Planet you get a salad with your meal and here you don't. The only reason we were able to get the salad was because I was using up our credit, and I asked for extra plates so we could share it. The breadsticks were pretty good, too. It was a lot of food (too much, really) but ds (12) did pack it away!

We loved the themed walls in Pizzafari! I think the theme of our room was animals of prey. It was bright & colorful!

Somthing magical happened on the very last day of our trip! We met the Dream Team and won Mickey Ears! We were so excited! Dd wore hers on the plane ride home. :thumbsup2

Food looks yummy - thanks for sharing.

This was our first visit to WCC and I've been wanting to try it for quite some time. The little table of Lincoln Logs for kids to use in their waiting area which is a nice touch. The restaurant is well themed. We loved the cowboy and Indian chairs!

This is the restaurant with the most mixed reviews.

Me: Bottomless caramel milkshake, All you can eat skillet, cinnamon tortilla with vanilla ice cream topped with bananas and banana caramel sauce (That dessert was :woohoo: so good!)

ds: Bottomless chocolate milkshake, All you can eat skillet, smores cheesecake

dd: Bottomless strawberry milkshake, Kid's meal of a hamburger & fries, "worms and dirt" dessert

Bottomless Milkshake = Heaven in a glass!!!!

The service was hit-or-miss, as well as the food.

Service Pros: Seated quickly, made a big fuss over dd's b-day, quick with milkshakes and initial food order
Service Cons: Dd ordered a plain burger with mustard on the side. They forgot the mustard and it took forever for her to come back to ask if we needed everything, so dd had a late start with her burger. Also, I had to OOP for dd's meal because she ordered from the kid's menu instead of the adult menu. Some places let that slide but this place didn't. It took a long time for us to get our check.

We were there for lunch and there were not many antics. :confused3 I didn't hear any yells for ketchup, though they did do the stick pony parade right before we were finished with our meal.

Food reviews:

The milkshakes were to die for!

This is what the AYCE skillet included. Not everything might be in the photograph.

1. Cornbread--pretty good!
2. Coleslaw--excellent!
3. Ribs--these were OK. Not great. Not bad. Just OK. Could have been slightly more tender.
4. Chicken--I'm not picky about chicken, but I didn't care for this chicken. The flavor was off.
5. Sausage--I didn't try it, but ds liked it
6. Baked beans--I thought they were OK and ds devoured them!
7. Mashed potatoes--Pretty good
8. Corn on the cob--I'm weird about getting food in my teeth and didn't eat this because it was too much of a pain for me to cut it off the cob like I do at home. (Yes--I'm weird that way :lmao: ) Ds ate it and said it was OK.

All of our desserts were excellent!

I think I just accidently licked my computer screen at those milkshakes. :lmao:

I love you took that picture of the Dalmatian statue. I would have done the same. I have a real one that has a hidden mickey too. :thumbsup2

I'm sure now, I'll go to WCC and have the skillet...looks yummy! I'm so hungry now! But I can only 'ate'...my cough mixture!

It wasn't easy taking that Dalmatian photo because the statue is right by the check-in desk and there was a steady flow of people checking in. :headache: But I was determined to take a picture of that Hidden Mickey! We just hung out there until there was a quick break between people standing in front of it so I could take my picture. This was in the waiting area and I think people thought we were nuts hanging around waiting to take a picture of the dog. :lmao:

I hope you feel better soon! :wizard:

Great review and pictures!:goodvibes

When it was dinner time at the MK, the most 2 convenient places for our location were Casey's and Cosmic Ray's. I gave the kids a choice of where they wanted to eat and they picked Casey's. They like watching the cartoons and seeing the ducks walking in and out of the restaurant! I was happy with the choice as Cosmic Ray's can require waiting in more than one line which isn't fun.

There are only a few indoor tables at Casey's, and we were very lucky with getting one. A woman who was just leaving her table offered it to us.

About the food.........the hot dogs and fries were as good as always and the fixings bar is also top notch as it still offers cheese (unlike Pecos Bill). But, WDW has switched to using whole wheat hot dog rolls. I don't mind the whole wheat in general, though the texture of the rolls is fragile and with all 3 of our hot dogs the roll tore apart and it was a messy meal. The funny thing is that WDW wants to offer healthier foods, and in this case we're talking about a roll that covers a junky hot dog. LOL The white bread rolls always held up OK. Anyway, the kids wanted to go to Casey's so we did and it was a nice & quick dinner.

Everyone: Hot dog & fries. We got a couple of bags of Cracker Jacks and a brownie. The kids shared the brownie and we saved the Cracker Jacks for later, which turned out to be a very good thing!

Notice the fun Halloween cups and popcorn bucket in the photo! I love the Halloween design!!

Disney08103.jpg

------------------------

Here's a funny popcorn story and why I'm thankful we got that Cracker Jacks at Casey's. I promised the kids that we'd get some popcorn buckets on our trip because they love Disney's popcorn and we save the buckets to bring home. See the bucket in the photo? We bought it near the Hub and planned on eating it in our room that evening. On our way out of the park that day, we decided to browse for a little bit in the candy store at the upper end of Main Street. Dd was carrying the popcorn bucket. She dropped it, and popcorn flew all over the store! We were so embarrassed and dd was upset. Of course a cast member was there with a broom in a split second and we helped her clean up the popcorn. The bucket cracked so we had to throw that away, too.

I told dd not to worry as we can walk back to the Hub and buy another bucket, which we did. That bucket made it safely back to the room; however, when I went to take off the lid I lost my grip and the bucket slipped out of my hands. Popcorn exploded everywhere! We cleaned it up and were sad that we bought 2 buckets of popcorn and didn't get to eat any! LOL But we did save our Cracker Jack from Casey's which softened the blow. And we bought more popcorn on another day. It was a running joke from that point on to "Be careful with the popcorn bucket!"

Isn't is a blast to be at the MK at ropedrop, knowing that you have a whole magical day ahead of you!?

Great review so far. Looking forward to the rest. :thumbsup2

Oh man about the popcorn buckets!!! That sounds like something my family would do too. I'm so going to have to go down sometime for the Halloween festivities.

There were renovations for a new floor happening at the food court while we were there, but all food stations were open. We ate at the food court only 3 times, twice for dinner and once for a snack. We passed on getting refillable mugs on this trip since we were on the dining plan. Because of the renovations and the lack of refillable mugs, we didn't go to the food court except for when we ate there. Normally we frequent the food court all of the time with our mugs.

Here is our first food court dinner.

Me: Make-your-own-salad, Mickey rice krispie treat, water
Ds: Hot dog and fries, Mickey rice krispie treat, milk
Dd: chicken nuggets & fries, Mickey rice krispie treat, milk

I like the salad station! It's similar to the one at Riverside. The cast member actually makes the salad for you but you pick all of the ingredients.

We saved the rice krispie treats for later, and discovered that they easily fall off of their stick. One of our Mickey Rice Krispie Treats fell off the stick and onto the parking lot as we were walking over to All Star Movies to take a look at that resort. Remember our popcorn bucket story? We weren't having good luck with snacks! From that point on, we ate the Mickey Rice Krispie Treats with caution.

Here is our 2nd food court dinner.

Me: chicken dinner (you pick your own side dishes), Coke, rice krispie treat
Ds: spaghetti dinner, milk, rice krispie treat
Dd: (3 wild guesses.......) chicken nuggets and fries, milk, rice krispie treat

My dinner was great! This chicken tasted way better than the chicken I had at Whispering Canyon Cafe. I don't know what it is about Disney's green beans, but I love them. Love them! They are nice and crisp and have a fresh flavor. The mashed potatoes are OK. I asked for no gravy.

This was on our last night, and we saved our rice krispie treats to bring home.

Here is our AS Music snack:

Me: Caramel sundae
Ds: Chocolate milkshake
Dd: Strawberry sundae

We ate these about an hour before we had to catch the Magical Express bus to the airport. It was a sweet way to end our trip. The sundaes were pretty big and I thought that they were a great use of our remaining snack credits. Ds liked his milkshake.

Oh man about the popcorn buckets!!! That sounds like something my family would do too. I'm so going to have to go down sometime for the Halloween festivities.

We're still laughing about our popcorn luck. Ds is getting braces in 2 weeks and will have the braces on our next trip, so we might not be buying popcorn for a while. I'm glad that we did get to eat some popcorn on the trip. popcorn::

The Halloween decorations were great!! We went to MNSSHP in 06 but skipped it this year. It was still fun to see all of the Halloween decorations during the day at the MK. :thumbsup2

UOTE=Pixiedust34;27803182]Let's kick off our reviews with a drink!

Disney08445.jpg

I found a new must-have drink at Epcot, the Peach Oolong Tea Schnapps Slushie from the Joy of Tea stand in Epcot's China. The drink is refreshing and I liked the peach flavor. Also, it's a bit less expensive than some of the other World Showcase adult beverages and it comes in a nice-sized cup. All around, this was a good drink and a good deal!

The cast member told me 4 times (yes, 4) that this is an adult drink when I was buying it. I guess he thought that I was going to give it to the kids. :confused3 Anyway, I guess it was nice to be warned that the drink can pack a little punch. :)

We enjoyed the movie in China's pavilion and met Mulan & Mushu![/QUOTE]

Be glad that they were so persistent about that. We had a very bad experience at the Coral Reef restaurant last week during our stay. There were 6 in our party and 5 of us ordered the non-alcoholic smoothies and when the waitress got to my Dad he said Margarita. Well, my Dad is a recovered alcoholic and hasn't had a drink in 18 years, so my Mom piped up and asked the waitress if it was non-alcoholic, she said yes, of course. Well when she brought our drinks, I made the comment that his drink sure looked like a "real" margarita, and wondered how they did a virgin margarita. She smiled and left, well long story short, when we got our bill, we were on the dining plan, there was a charge for a drink. We asked her about it, and she said, well that is for your margarita, alcolholic beverages are not included!!! This is after my dad and my 4 year old son had drank about half of the margarita!!!! We were mortified, and she just didn't quite get why it was such a problem. Not a good experience for us, so be glad that they were so persistent about your drink being adult only.
