We are headed for our annual SWW trip next week, staying off property for four nights. We will have 5 days in Orlando, three days in parks. We don't usually stay this long and never have free days, so I am looking for free/ inexpensive things to do around the resort. It will be me, DH, DS 22 months, and my mother-in-law.

We plan to visit DTD, AoA, and maybe Boardwalk. DS loves swings. Are there any hidden gem playgrounds worth visiting at any resorts? Also, we love live music. Any hotels have a pianist or something in the lobby during the day? Any other suggestions? TIA.

You could check out Ft. Wilderness Campground. They have a nice playground, petting zoo, pony rides, etc... As far as live music, I know there is Yee Haw Bob at Port Orleans that people seem to love (we haven't seen him), but that is at night.

Definitely go to fort wilderness. They also have a nightly sing a long/campfire followed by an outside move. The sing a log is led by a banjo player and chip and dale come to dance.

But I thought the sing-along was reserved for onsite guests and the OP wrote she's offsite. Maybe they don't really care?
