YES!!! Free ice, water or iced water.

Be aware that to get ice at counter-service restaurants, you do have to stand in the register line. It's still no charge, but there can be a long wait.

It's quicker to find the outside drink stands that have soft-drink fountains -- if they have a fountain, they will give you free ice water, but if there is no fountain, they won't be able to do it for you.
