This was back when tests first came out and it was very hard to get tested elsewhere, these might’ve been the first ones the public could purchase for home use (and not instant, you had to send them in to be tested).$130, what kind are those?

Get well soon, BSH.Welp, I've been masking and being very careful. However, I've been under the weather for a couple of days because I caught something from my little Godson, who just started Pre-K. Schools are germ factories, especially when masks are not required. I got to use one of my shiny new Covid tests, as did my Godson and my aunt. We all tested positive.
I feel ok, just like I have a minor cold. My Godson, who is now staying with us for the duration, is also feeling ok but snotty and coughing. My aunt is sicker than us, but not too bad. Everyone in my Godson's house has tested negative, but his mom is out of work until she has a negative test from a doctor (she's an EMT.) My cousin (my Godson's grandmother) has tested negative as well even though she lives with us.
This is my third go-round with Covid, possibly fourth if you count the "some kind of respiratory virus" I had for a month in February of 2020 that I'm nearly convinced was Covid after all. *sigh*
I went to a Brett Young concert back in May and he mentioned he wasn't feeling well. I came home and told my daughter if I get COVID I got it from him.We went to see U2 at the Sphere in Vegas. Bono had a cough and mentioned at one point that he had Covid and that another band member just got over it as well. Cut to present. We’re home and both DH and I have Covid. But, at least I can say Bono gave it to me.![]()

Wait, Bono actively had COVID and did a concert? We went to see U2 at the Sphere in Vegas. Same here, I don't get it. When masks were required (on planes, etc.) that kind of made sense that people wore them incorrectly. But now that masks are optional I don't get why people continue to wear them incorrectly. They don't do a darn thing if you don't wear them right, so why bother?I've been travelling (flying) a lost this year, and MAYBE see 10-15% of people wearing masks. I have no problems with people wearing masks. What I don't understand is those who are wearing a mask, but under their nose or under their mouths, hanging from a single ear, etc. Want to wear a mask? Go for it. No evil eye from me. But if you're going to wear one, at least wear it so it MIGHT do some good.
I mostly see younger people doing it this way and just sort of assume it is to catch their cough germs from going to others, not so much to protect themselves.Same here, I don't get it. I mean, to each their own, but I just don't get the logic. And I hope they don't think they're protected if their nose is peeking out of their mask . . .
Yep, I have it on video. He said he usually calls someone up on stage at that point in the show but he couldn’t because he’s sick. Then he went over and gave his band mate a hug and said don’t worry he’s immune, he just got over the coronavirus. I’m paraphrasing but it was clear.Wait, Bono actively had COVID and did a concert?
I see people of all ages wearing masks incorrectly. And haven't we been lectured enough over the last couple of years that covering your nose AND mouth is the better way to protect others AS WELL AS YOURSELF? It just boggles me that someone will go through the trouble of wearing a mask, but then wear it so it does little to no good (for them OR others).I mostly see younger people doing it this way and just sort of assume it is to catch their cough germs from going to others, not so much to protect themselves.
Overall the young people are the most courteous to me and they have the least to worry about for themselves.
I guess the breath they are exhaling through their noses doesn't have germs.I mostly see younger people doing it this way and just sort of assume it is to catch their cough germs from going to others, not so much to protect themselves.

I didn't say it was a brilliant idea, I am saying what I suspect they are doing.I guess the breath they are exhaling through their noses doesn't have germs.
Oh, I get it. I was just being sarcastic.I didn't say it was a brilliant idea, I am saying what I suspect they are doing.
I wear one all the time because the majority of people don't even pretend to care, they cough all over the place freely and don't even cover their mouths. Truly, its like people forgot how to be civilized, so disgusting.
All things considered, I appreciate a poorly thought out attempt more than nothing at all, at least it shows a hint of conscience.
Back to the point, seems like the word is out for the test availability, people everywhere seem to be getting them & the price for Binax at Walmart came down a bit.
Really? When did this start? Walmart never offered them to me when I tried to get them through insurance (back in January I think) but was denied. For those in CA, you can still get free tests at many/most pharmacies until next month. CA never stopped giving the free tests, but the program is supposed to end in Nov. Don't know if it will be extended. DH just picked up 4 boxes (= 8 tests) for each of us.
