We took our WONDERful trip on 4/24 and loved it! Out of character, I did not make ANY plans for Nassau because I really wasn't sure what to do. We get off the ship and we figured we would just take a cab ride over to take a look at Atlantis....We that's all your gonna get if you didn't pay for the beach day excursion w/Disney....
We asked if there was a beach we could go to and they sent us on a ten minute walk to the public beach next to the RIU Resort which was great!
As soon as you walk down to the beach, "they" try to get you to rent a beach chair for $10. Then some guy walking with a box full of coconuts and juice asked us if we wanted to "get wasted". We said sure
He takes out a machete and chops open two coconuts and drains them, then he opens his (dirty) cooler and pours some (I guess) rum in the coconuts and then adds juice. I thought for sure I'd be on the toilet all night, but I was Okay
Banana Boat rides and Parasailing were offered while we were there, but we didn't take it. However, we were watching and the operators seemed to be acting with safety.
I would bring towels, but don't bring anything to drink (except for bottled water from the ship) because there is no bathroom around for you to use!
Just want to let you future cruisers know!
