I can't remember which board I saw this on -- but I read somewhere that some of the Disney hotels offer free photos of your kids favorite characters with an autograph. I couldn't remember which hotel(s) offer this. Does anyone know??
thanks!

All 3 disney hotels will get you black and white autographed pic's if you ask. We got the princesses and Toy story when we went.

As hlbtimes2 said, this is offered at all three hotels, but I need to add that we were just at Paradise Pier Hotel, & I nicely asked for autographed pics for my nephews whose birthdays we were celebrating (6 & 4), and neither one got an autographed picture. I just want to make sure no one is set up for disappointment.

Mary Jo, so you DID ask and didn't get it! (I didn't catch that from the post on another thread.) What a bummer!

I asked when I booked the rooms, and I called a couple of days ahead & they noted it, and told me that though they didn't have the Incredibles pictures for the boys they would do something. So on Friday I went to PPH early in the day to pre-register -- it was a treat from me to my SIL & family for her boys' birthdays -- and the girl had their names down. My SIL & her family checked in at 6:30 or so, & we got there later (my kids had stuff to do at home), and she had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned packages. I had to go down to the desk because my room keys had all been deactivated (by my cell phone perhaps?), and the same girl who had checked me in got me again, & I mentioned that the boys didn't receive their packets. She got them from under the counter - they had been made up -- and then gave them to me. I asked her (nicely) if they'd be getting balloons, too, and she said of course, then went into the back and got a couple. Of course, the boys thought I had got this stuff (no Disney magic there), and when they emptied their packets, I was disappointed to see that there was nothing personal, and it looked like a couple of promotional leaflets (which didn't make sense for a 4-yr old & 6-yr old). Of course, my SIL & family didn't know better, so they were pleased, but I knew better, so I was disappointed.

Oh, that must have been so disappointing. Well, I'll try not to get my hopes up too high, and see what we wind up getting. Here's hoping... :goodvibes

You could always purchase a few of the postcards from DLR and sign it yourselves from the character of course...and then mail it to your house. It wold be there when you returned. Maybe "Mickey" could ask how your child's visit was!

Unfortunately, my girls would catch that -- the little detectives would see that the autographs are different from the ones in their WDW autograph books. Disney keeps them standard so that no matter which Mickey (or other character) you see, the autograph is the same.

This happened at WDW when my girls came across Minnie at the park, and saw her later at Chef Mickey's. I was worried about their books, but sure enough the autographs were exactly the same. Part of the magic. :wizard:

I dont think they train them, at DL, for that anymore. I've seen plenty that look different from the "same" character.

When we stayed at PP in Oct (conc. level) I called in advance and asked for pictures and balloons. There were none when we checked in. I asked the conc. hostess the next day. She said they would be there when we returned that day. Still nothing. Finally on day three she gave me their pic's when we came into the lounge. We never did get balloons. We chatted with the cm for a few minutes about getting them autographed (the kids were not around). She admitted that she signed them all- Snow White, Belle, Cinderella, Buzz, Woody, Jessie, etc. She was a princess at one time, before working at PP. She couldn't tell us which one.

That's too bad. I read on another post -- the one about what you had to go through to become a character -- that the signature was part of the training. I know they were accurate at WDW. That's a shame if it's not the same at DL, especially since children now collect, save, and scrapbook signatures and pics.

I can kind of understand the CM at the hotels doing it -- It would be better if they had a stash of pre-signed photos all in the same hand.

Oh, well. I better be prepared for the questions next year :confused3 My eldest DD (at the time 5) was already confused that the "Jane" at Animal Kingdom was blonde. I told her women change their hair colour all the time :rotfl2:

We had a security guard at the DLH give our kids 3 autographed photos while we were waiting for our table at Goofy's kitchen. We had met the guard the day before at DL and he was a great help then too (we had to leave DL during the parade time, but people kept cutting off my daughter in her wheelchair, so he gave us an escort out) His kindness was one of the highlights of our trip. In neither case did we ask for nor expect his kindness, it was just offered. We wrote Disney to express our gratitude when we returned home.

The magic of Disney. You never know where it will come on your trip, but you can find it when you least expect it.
