Free Anti-virus Software..

When my Norton subscription finishes later this year I was going to put AVG on my computer, with Norton the 'spam' goes into a Norton Antispy Folder how do you deal with 'spam' with AVG please.

AVG doesn't actually deal with spam. It's anti-virus software only. It does scan your e-mails for viruses, but you would need additional software to deal with spam.

Thank you for your reply, I have been advised that if I have AVG to also have Zone alarm how can I stop the spam going to my inbox please.

I'm not sure how often other virus checkers update, but my version of AVG updates automatically every day.

Not that I have a particular affinity for AVG, it's just that's it's free and I'm a cheapskate!

Im no expert on AVG, but I recall an email a while back that was sent to me and a friend (and others), that contained a virus....my Sophos picked it up, my friends AVG didnt konw about it so he ended up with a format.

Whilst it may be updating every day, what it is updating with, may have been already included by Sophos etc some time before.

Avast is also free by the way for home users....but I can't say if its as good as Sophos yet.
