I know I've read about the Amazon Mom membership here before, but I disregarded it because the plan (which basically gives you a free Amazon Prime membership) is set up for mothers of babies and toddlers.
I was going to do the free Amazon Prime one month membership, but when I tried to sign up, it wasn't working. I called customer service to find out why it wasn't working since it had been more than 13 months since I last had a free Amazon Prime trial membership. The customer service rep suggested that I just sign up for the Amazon Mom membership. He said DH could sign up too (and so could my mom for that matter).
I asked, "Isn't this just for new moms and moms of toddlers?"
He said no. Any mom, dad or grandparent can sign up, no matter the age of the children (our kids are ages 12 and 15). He said the benefits for mothers of younger kids would not pertain to us. For example, after the 3 month free membership, if I were to order $25 or more in the mom's store (say I ordered a box of diapers), then I'd get another month free for each month that I spent $25.00 in the mom's store.
So while I won't get that benefit of extending the free membership since I won't be shopping for babies or toddlers in the mom's store, I can still benefit from the 3 month free membership. So DH and I both signed up. After that expires we will do a family Amazon Prime membership. Now if I need only one thing from Amazon, I won't feel like I have to spend $25 to get the super saver free shipping.
Just thought I'd pass that info on because I know many people on here could benefit from the free 3 months, and they would not be breaking any rules or lying about the ages of their children. It's all legit!

Here's what it says in the FAQ:
What is the maximum age of my child for me to be eligible?
• Amazon Mom is open to anyone. If your kids are older than toddlers, you can still join the program; you just may not enjoy some of the benefits that are targeted at younger children.
