Freckles Question

I remember as a kid being teased about my freckles on my face...I had a lot, but can't remember when they began appearing! My DD who is 6 1/2 has had very clear skin until recently...I've noticed a smattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose. Does anyone remember when freckles start to appear and if you can tell "how many" someone is going to end up with!!? Thanks, Jo

I had freckles on my face as a kid, although they seemed to have faded into wrinkles now!

My oldest takes after me, he started getting freckles at about 6. I think they are cute, he hates them. Of course.

My face was COVERED as a kid (hated that) and they've faded some over the years. But after those first times out in the sun in the summer they come back.

DS has a few on his nose, they appeared when he was 5. I love them too! He could care less.

I started getting them around 5 or 6 because I can definitely tell the difference in pictures of myself. I am the freckle QUEEN. I have the freckles a redhead should have yet I have dark brown hair. I look like a rotten banana in the summer. I really can't stand them but it was one of the things that attracted DH to me so they can't be that bad. My dad used to tell me they would go away when I hit my twenties and I'm nearly 28 and they're still as dark as ever.

My daughter will be 6 in August and shows no signs of freckles yet. She definitely has my husband's complexion though as she tans in the summer rather than burns like me. I don't know how you can tell how many they will have but by 6 I had several dark freckles across my cheeks and the bridge of my nose.

I still have mine. I'll be 30 in two weeks (OMG! I can't believe that, lol). When I was younger, they were all over my face, and of course, I hated them.

As I hit my 20's, they faded although they are def. still there, just lighter. I got back from WDW and a Disney cruise last week and sure enough, my sunscreen didn't help as much as it could have. Got more freckles now. I don't mind them anymore. They actually make me look much younger than 30 (at least that is what I think, lol). Not that 30 is old or anything

DD is 6, and a redhead, and really started to get freckles about a year or so ago. In the summer, they are very prominent, but then fade the rest of the year. She doesn't have them all over her face, just on her nose and cheeks. I also have freckles in the same places, although I'm a blonde, and mine get more prominent in summer, too.

DS (4) has just recently started getting them, he's blonde, and he's got them in the same spot as well, I'm interested to see how much they darken in the summer.

I have the opposite problem. I have olive skin and used to get a very dark and even tan when I was a child.

Since I have been in my early twenties, I have been freckling on my face more than I have been tanning and I hate it.

I know if my photos around age 4 they are there...have less now but that's because I stay out of the sun. I love my freckles!

I think it has to do with lots of time out playing in the sun too. I have a red headed freckly son. He ran a race on Saturday and when he came home I told him his freckles had come back. He is a runner and surfer and by the end of summer his freckles are so thick they actually resemble a tan, which he never gets. I have a constant war with this boy over sunscreen.
By the way he used to hate his curly red hair and freckles. When he was like 6 yrs old he used to tell me he wanted to change his name to Michael. I didn't know why. Finally he told me. In his class was a boy named Michael who was oriental. His hair was straight black and of course he had no freckles. People didn't say to Michael, oh what cute hair and freckles.
He has, however come to appreciate his unique looks, as girls love him. LOL

My dd was about 6 yo or so before hers popped up.

I love freckles. I always wanted them. I have a few on my shoulders, but not many. A friend of mine is a red head and has so many freckles on her legs, she looks like she has a tan.
