I wonder how long that surgery was supposed to take. If they got her checked in at 6-7ish...and not out of surgery until 3ish...do you know what time her surgery was scheduled?

....

This is what Kellie wrote the other day.......

I have to be there by 5:45am. I told John I am going in my pjs. They are starting things at 6:15am. They said I should be out between 3 and 4. Then a couple of hours in recovery so we most likely will not get home until about 7 or 8 I think. I feel bad for John it is going to be a long day for him.I told him to go home but he said no he needs to be there.

Yes, I remember that...so maybe by the time he gets her home, it will be more like 10:00...I hate to disappoint you guys..but I may not be posting at that hour..but I will post first thing in the a.m..

I almost wish she would have stayed the night, that's what I would have done. Did she have a choice? I know she kept saying she wanted to go right home, but is she one of those "drive-by breast surgeries" we always hear about in emails? I got to spend the night for my thyroid surgery, and I walked out the next morning with no pain meds necessary, I am thinking most certainly this surgery is much more intense...

Insurance companies. ..nuff said..

She also lives 45min to an hour away from the hospital, so by the time she gets discharged, get the car from the garage (which is likely a few blocks away), blah, blah, blah - it could be late...

I would also feel better if she spent the night. DH spent the night for his thyroid surgery too...

Hi we are home. Kellie did great. Things went fine. She has a very hard time in the morning when they did the wire inserts. She was awake for it and wished they knocked her out. she did a great job and toughed it out. The Dr took alot of tissue from around the area in hopes to get it all. Dr Rhea said she has a 50/50 chance of having to go back in.Kellie is in alot of pain but woke up asking for her Dunkin Donuts coffee.
It will be about a week before we know if they got it all.

Kellie asked me to send her love to her freaps.

I didn't even take time to answer him, I will go back and tell him we are all so glad they are home and OK...I will link him to the thread here so he can read our reactions...so glad she came through the surgery well..

Yay! Thanks for keeping us informed. I'm glad Kellie is home and got her some coffee. Depriving FREAPS of their caffeine is just cruel and unusual punishment. Kellie(or John) if you read this, know that we are thinking about you but don't feel like you have to hurry in to chat. Take your time and relax as much as you can until you feel up to it.

I thought I would stop and post a fast Hi. To be truthful It hurt like Hel&. I should have had them knock me out for the first part. But no I thought I wanted to have some since of controll of what was going on. Boy am I dumb. There is a reason they can drug you into a nap. I am so going to get knocked out every chance I get now. But pain killers are my best friend right now
