And DH makes the best bartender- your wish is his command! He came home from the liquor store on Saturday morning and told me he had a surprise- he pulls out Vanilla Vodka and Godiva Chocolate liquor!!! He said he is making chocolate martinis for us that night!:cool1:

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!

Oh, and I almost forgot to share with yous guys! I rebooked a reservation for Disney this morning!!! :thumbsup2 Since the discounts came out, and I have an opportunity to make some extra money we didn't previously think I had, DH is considering going. AND, his family may be going as well! We may not make it back to AL for Christmas this year and one of his brothers is already planning on being at Disney before Christmas so we are hoping the other brother and his family can come to and his parents are definitely interested in coming, so can someone say GRAND GATHERING!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Now I gotta make another TICKER!

:cool1: :dance3: :cool1: Yay!!!!!

One of my cousins at the party asked me if DH's dream was to open a small restaurant/bar b/c he is so good at keeping everyone "happy" and he always wants everyone to eat!:rotfl2: He will go and make up some drinks and just come out and fill up your glass- no asking involved:thumbsup2

Hey all! We got the shutters on the windows and I'm gonna finish moving all our lanai furniture today, so we're ready. We figure since we are well prepared it will go somewhere else or piddle down to nothing :thumbsup2
Right now it's no biggie, but we'll be watching it. Our town definately doesn't need another big one. We are finally getting finished putting the town back together from Charley and he was 4 years ago!

MMKK, Fay could very well come up there so I hope you're ready, too!

We've been debating putting up the shutters - we did move everything out of the yard, so that's done. This thing isn't strong - but I'm afraid it could "pull a Charley" on us! DH is working, but I could probably start the shutters today. Last night we had a 1.5 ft diameter bougainvillea "tree" topple over in our back yard in a rain band from Fay. Took out a gutter, took out our arbor, and smashed DH's smoker! Stupid Fay.

hey freaps. Hope you guys can help me out. I havent been to Disney since my wedding in Nov of 06. Dh and I are going to try and go in a few weeks since im not pregnant this month:headache: and it might be ethe last opportunity we get before we have children.

Does Disney do "codes" like they used to? I used to be able to find ppl who stay on top of those here on the Dis but... i dont know where to look if they wouldn't be here on the budget board. Does anyone know or have any direction they might point me? THanks!! in 06 we haved over $400 with one code that my AAA agent didnt know about!

Maggie,
Have you looked at mouse savers to see if they have one?
I will stay on the look out for you.
Maybe going to Disney will be the place for you to get prego. All good thing happen at Disney.

As to my ex-DH (BTW, is there another acronym for that? The D gets me everytime..)

I have been giving this some serious thought. How about XH for ex husband, and XW for ex wife?

Just me thinking..... happens so rarely that I felt the need to share. :rotfl:

Thanks! You all are so sweet to help!

I think Dh is wanting to go the week of Sept 7th. See we have to plan this within the next month-- so i can ride rides that is (and not have to worry whether Im hurting a baby or something, ya know)!! C'mon when it comes to Disney.... you have to be selfish!

We wont be qualifying for free dining because we will be staying in a deluxe resort (I think thats how it goes anyway).

I was wondering where you were! Figured you were doing the same stupid things as I am! We only put shutters on some of our key windows and sliders that get the most exposure. Sorry to hear about your "tree"! Hopefully that will be the only damage we get! STUPID FAY!

Thanks! That's pretty good. And I know what you mean about the thinking :lmao: .

I've been out all morning putting shutters up by myself! I had to come in and take a shower to cool off. We painted the house not too long ago, and the screws for the shutters are all painted stuck! Real big pain!

Wow Jennifer, talk about making a pain in the neck project worse! I'm glad you got it done though...one less freap to worry about! I just finished with all the lanai furniture and dock stuff, so I'm done now. I'm not sure what to do about my Iguana. He lives in a huge birdcage on the lanai...it's too big to move, but I suppose all his other wild Iguana buddies will be weathering the storm? He's got a little house that he can climb into and I pushed the cage up against the wall...so...I think he'll be ok, but I'm not done contemplating the situation yet! In the mean time, I need to take a shower myself.

Here's something cool though...I went into my son's room and it was so pitch black dark in there with the shutters on I remembered he has this cool light that shines 3-d slides of outer space on the ceiling. There is a cd that you can play along with it with a narrator taking you through the planets and all....so I set it up and we can do it later! :3dglasses Me :3dglasses DH :3dglasses DD14 :3dglasses DS8

That sounds fun! My kids like when then shutters are up, the boys say the house is like a "cave." We'll have to watch some movies tonight, until the power goes out! LOL DH just called, he works at the beach and said it's getting real breezy there. They are expecting a storm surge on FM Beach.

We are lucky that our high tide is not until tomorrow afternoon, so the storm should have passed on by then. We live on the water and if they coinsided we would have storm surge on our lawn! :lmao: Not good for the grass! It has only happened once since we moved here 8 years ago, so I guess we have good timing when it comes to hurricanes!

I didn't think my daughter was ever gonna get our of bed today! Put a teenager in a dark room and they never come out again! :rotfl2:

Oh, how I wish we had shudders. My DH never thinks anything bad is going to happen. From his lips to gods ears.

We are on the Northern east coast so please send some pixie dust our way.:headache: They just closed my DS school for the next two days :scared1:

Now either DH or I will be taking tommorow off from work and then the other one of us will take off Wednesday. I just cant leave him alone even if its only a tropical storm, too many trees and too many windows. :sad2:

Last I saw Fay is barely anything to worry about. Jennifer, it looks like it may be headed more your way than mine. Even though I'm only 30 minutes or so north of you I know from experience that makes a big difference! But luckily she's a tiny storm. All you freaps up north have to deal with snow, ice, hail, tornados ,etc...way more often than we have to deal with hurricanes so I am grateful (at this moment) that she's not very strong! Right now it's beautiful outside...I sat out on the lanai and read for an hour or so before dinner because it's actually much cooler than normal and breezy!

So if you're reading this MOM, all is good! The kids schools are cancelled for tomorrow (Hadley is bummed! It was her first day!) and we're hankered (or is that hunkered) down for the night! We might lose power if the winds are high tomorrow, but you can always reach us by cell phone!

Sorry to hear everyone is having to deal with the storm. I hope it doesn't get any worse. :goodvibes I have been following it on the 'net. Does hurricane season in Florida usually start at this time of year?

We have been busy-busy! It is breeding time for the cattle and the boys are winding down, getting ready for school. They both have quit their summer jobs and youngest has been attending 'band camp' at the high school, getting ready for marching band as soon as school starts. Oldest DS is beginning to pack for college and will be leaving the 1st of September. He has had an attitude this summer and I have been on the receiving end of it. I think it is an emotional break from Mom. He wouldn't use that tone with Dad...he knows better. DH says that is what I get for letting the kids know they are loved by their Mom no matter what.

The local County Fair was all last week and we didn't go but I did go to the 4H/FFA market sale on Saturday morning. Prices were down and no one seemed surprised.

There is a fire at the Montana/Idaho border and it must be a bad one because the whole western side of Montana is covered with smoke. The moon was red, tonight, when it came up....very eerie!

Everybody be safe....! :wizard:
