Hey Everyone:

we have beenn on the waiting list for a Grand Villa at either KV or JH for awile now and nothing has come through yet. It is only for one night MArch 17th, do you think I should just give up or is there still hope. What are your experiences on wait lists coming through at the very last minute.

Send me some pixie dust for luck, this one means alot to me.

Thanks,

Wendy

You have a back-up plan right? Just one night in the middle of a week. Unless someone cancels the whole week you might be in trouble. For any other size room I'd say there is still hope, but not for a GV. Hope I'm wrong

Yep, have a Grand Villa booked at OKW, but we have never stayed there before and don't really know what to expect with the mixed reviews we have been reading.

Every resort will have "mixed reviews". OKW is a great resort, the original DVC resort with the largest rooms and wonderful landscaping and serenity. As for GV waitlists coming through, you never know. But to me, GV's mean a large group that has planned most likely at least a year in advance for a trip. So unless something comes up, my guess is that they don't cancel as often as other room types. I stress that is just my guess, I have no data to support that.

Good luck! :)

Plus you are less than 31 days out. So any cancellations mean the member's points go into holding.

That's a nice way of saying your chances are 0%.

We love all the DVC resorts but find OKW the most laid back and relaxing of all the DVC resorts. It is more like the Old Florida with the flavor of circa 1920's Key West of Ernest Hemmingway, without his cats.

Never stayed in a GV at OKW but toured one back in 1992 when we purchased, back then it was gorgeous and what made us sign on the dotted line. We own OKW and BWV, were thinking of selling OKW, consulted with our kids 30, 28,28 and27 and all four were horrified. I hope you love OKW as much as we do, have a wonderful trip.
