Freaking out - reservation gone

We have a free dining reservation in two months, and I called today to change one ticket to adult because my 7 year old eats a TON.

The young woman on the phone is very friendly and trying to help, but the system was not allowing the changes to go through. She got guest services to fix it, they said for her to check now. She can't get into it, and it's completely gone from MDE... the entire reservation. And it's during a time when there is no availability at any Disney resort, so I figure we can't just make a new one. Plus there's no free dining anymore.

I think I'm going to cry...
 
And also, there is NO NEED to change your 7year old’s dining to “adult”. The kids pay a smaller price, but are allowed to eat anything off the menu, just like an adult. All of the credits are pooled together and none are designated as “child” even though you’re paying for a child. Disney does it that way on purpose. It is not cheating. Just pay the smaller price and thank your lucky stars that your little one will have MORE than enough to eat (and you will have a smaller bill!)
 

I think adult and child quick service credits are identical, but I don't think that's the case for table service. At least, it wasn't last year. Have you had experience with that this year?
 
In practice kid CS credits can be used for adult meals. Only CS. And it's written that they need to order a kids meal. But in practice it works.
