:flower1: I didn't read all the post about the rude CM'S but I for one am very happy with every person I have met at any DVC location or at the parks. I go with a positive attitude and have never been treated unkind or been rude to. I just wanted to let all those CM's who post here, that I am so thankfull for all your help and WELCOME HOME'S. They make my day! You work so hard to make a vacation the best ever and it has always been that way for us. Thanks for all you do and I will never be rude to you and I will try to understand when you can't do everything I need you to do. Not all DVC members are rude and we do care about you. THANK YOU!!!!

I personally think that your attitude is the biggest difference. Have you ever noticed that grumpy people bring out the grump in you?

I got to watch a prime example on a flight the other night. Mr Grump was yelling at the FAs that he couldn't put his luggage in the overhead. The FAs who started out very nice finally just got rude and told him he had two options, bottom in seat or off the plane! LOL! Why do some people think that DEMANDING stuff will make the impossible happen. There was no more overhead space. Sorry!

Very nicely said, Merilyn. In fact, on our last trip my wife and I took it one step further. On the occasions we had a few minutes to chat with cast members, we told them how much we appreciate what they do for us. This meant a lot to all of the CMs that we talked to. You could literally hear the appreciation in their voice.

A while back there was a DISer here (can't remember who), that had "cast member appreciation cards". The guest would hand these to deserving cast members. At one point I tried to print them out, but I wadded my computer while attempting to do so.

Way to go MG. By any chance have you read the book "The Fred Factor"? It's a short book that stresses things like what you just did.

I have to admit that I get into a lot of conversations with CM's but very often my thanks to them is not as clear as what you have suggested.

I do try to remember one name of a CM to comment on for the on-line survey we usually are asked to take. The CM's have been great to us.

We too are very happy.

I totally agree, and your perspective deserves to be treated with a similar perspective in return. That's why the CM's (or supposed CM) original post and attitude were so out of line. To generalize about DVC'ers is unfair to those as nice as yourself.

I think we can all agree that most CM's are wonderful at what they do, and the CM who posted here is just a bad seed. A BIG THANK YOU to all CM's reading this for your hard work and dedication to making our trips magical!
 
I have several times now written letters to management about some of the CM's I felt went out of thier way to make our vacation special. I always say thank you while I am there and also show my appreciation in my tip. Normally if you start out with a smile you will get one in return.
 
We are right there with Merilyn...we are VERY happy with DVC, WDW, and the CMs there!

In the two years I have owned DVC, we have made about 7 DVC trips and each one has been filled with magic and a big part of that has been the CMs. I'm looking forward to the next 30+ years :cloud9:
 
I couldn't agree more! If you get dealt lemons, make lemonade! I have never had a problem with cast members, but I have never been a problem for them either. If you do have a problem, be polite. You will get a lot farther with the roses than the thorns.

I'm an avid letter writer and I love to write letters of recommendation for a CM that deserves the recognition. I love the fact that Disney rewards the CM's for being noticed. I have to say in all the trips we've been to WDW, I think I lost count at 15, I've never been in a situation where I felt the need to write a letter of complaint about an individual CM, but I've written lots of letters to compliment individuals. I guess I can say we have never been disappointed by a CM and some have indeed gone way beyond the normal call of duty, that's when it's really cool to know that complimenting them to their bosses will hopefully bring them rewards in their job later on. And if they feel rewarded for an extra effort, then maybe they'll make that extra effort again and again. I love how that works!

We go on each trip with no expectations except to experience the Magic. I can't say that every experience I've had with every CM has been magical, every human being has a bad day here and there, but I just let those instances roll off my shoulder and I move on. If I focus on a negative, I might miss a positive that could turn into something Magical. It's the most Magical place on earth, I'm not going to let anything or anyone take that away from me and my family!
