The Black Forest Brewery has made a comeback--highly recommend it! DH & I went back there this summer after shying away from it do to poor food/service & I have to say we loved it. We shared the beer sampler & had more than enough for the two of us & enjoyed the Prime Rib & salmon--yummy. The Frankenmuth Brewery is just starting to get back up & running after being up for sale for quite awhile--I would say to check out the menu on their website & see if there's anything you're interested in. They have a very limited menu. Absolutely love the atmosphere at Tiffany's--the view can't be beat when you're out on the deck but I also love the inside & it's old time look. Their food can be hit & miss--if you want something different try their pasta pizza, soo yummy!
I agree with the review of T Dubs--we ate inside one time & won't do it again, the food was nasty. I do recommend their pizza but only as a takeout. I disagree on the Tony's recommendations---we stopped in their last year just after their prices went up & they are way too expensive for the quality of food. The waitress just said, yes I understand, when we said we were walking out without ordering--must happen a lot.
For a different style of food check out the newly reopened Oscar & Joey's in Birch Run (formerly Dixie Dave's). They've redone their menu & have gone from all wildgame food to more of a tavern menu with a few of the more popular wildgame dishes still in the mix. My DS8 went nuts over the alligator gumbo--dh game him a sample & he ate half the bowl.
Hope this helps! Enjoy your trip!

. Midland has a very good consignment store on Washington St. called Just for Kids. It is a little smoky from the tobacco shop next door, but I scored tons of deals for next season on all name brand clothing. I am adding this since we are all about a good deal on the site!
There is an ongoing Michigan thread on the community board too.
