Frank Lloyd Wright Walking Tour?

Anybody ever do any of the Frank Lloyd Wright house tours at Florida Southern College in Lakeland? I'm thinking it might be a fun half day for DW and me sometime when our kids want to go to the parks without us. I'm wondering if the tours get fully booked ahead of time or if we'd be okay hoping to get a day-of reservation. Also, how long should it take to drive there from the Boardwalk?
