Hi all! I haven't posted on this forum in ages, but I still lurk to see all the great photos from you veterans and newbies.

I have kind of a weird question. Last winter, our town's parks & rec dept. sponsored a winter photo contest - you could enter up to 5 images, and they had to be taken during Nov-March in our town. I sent in 3 photos, and one of them won 2nd place! Yea me!:cheer2: Unfortunately no big money prize, just a couple of gift cards to local businesses. But I still got bragging rights :goodvibes

So about a month ago in the mail, we got this year's winter parks & rec catalog of what classes/activities are offered, and lo and behold, my photo was on the cover! NOT the photo that won 2nd place, but one of the others that I submitted. And even better, they gave me credit, in very small print, but it says in the corner: "Photo by Amy ***". :cheer2::cheer2:

Well, I'd like to get this framed - it's the first time one of my photos is on the cover of anything. My question: do I cut off the cover and only frame that, or do I put the entire catalog in the frame? It's only about 20-24 pages, so it's not real thick or anything. My initial thought is to preserve the catalog as it is and frame the whole thing, but I'm not quite sure. What do you think?

In case you're wondering, this is the photo that won 2nd place:

And this is the photo that did NOT win, but they thought it was worthy of the cover of this year's catalog:

I'd probably just frame the cover. Although if it were my city I'd contact them, tell them who I was and ask if there was anyway I could get a PDF of the cover to print and frame. The paper they print those things on will deteriorate.

Duh! I never thought of that. It's worth a phone call; thanks!

Congratulations!

I'm certainly not an expert here, but I would (a) see if I could find another copy of the magazine and preserve it in its entirety, and if I could, then (b) frame just the cover. I like the PDF idea as well.

Congratulations ! I don't have an answer for you just wanted to tell you how much I liked your photos The one they chose for the cover though is the one I would have picked as the winner
