It makes me nuts that Shutters does so many of the photos in 6x8 format. So the choice to frame is to either mat in an 8x10 or cut it apart and put in a 5x7. Neither of those is something I want to do. We keep a wall of fame in our basement of our best Disney photos (including cruise) and ideally we would find a frame that fits the 6x8 format. Our local Michaels says there is no such animal. Has anyone had any luck finding an actual 6x8, simple, inexpensive frame?

I hear you!
I expressed the same thing to them at shutters on our recent cruise... it's maddening I tell you! (even more so that if you find photos you want to buy- you can only get it in the size they have there... if it's a 6x8 that's what you can get, if another photo is 4x6- that's all you can get that photo in that size- maddening I tell you! WE don't want EVERY photo in huge format! And last cruise there was only ONE photo we had in the smaller size- all the rest were 6x8's- we don't have THAT much wall space and don't want 50 gazillion photo albums sitting around from one cruise!)

the only frame I know that fits the 6x8 is the silver one we got with the REAS package years ago.. all the rest of our 6x8's from the 2006 cruise are still in the envelope & bag... the smaller photos (the ones we managed to have show up in the smaller size are in frames and/or album). I haven't found photos to fit the bigger pictures either. :(

I know my local camera store/photo place just started selling 6x8 prints. Also I've heard of hobby Lobby selling frames in 6x8 and I believe I saw some at walmart.

Ritz Camera shops have some 6 x 8 frames. Also Aaron Bros. has 6 x 8 frames

Thanks for all the responses. Looking for something simple based on ho we have the photos displayed so I guess a trip to wal-mart (as much as i hate walking through those doors) is a necessity.

I was frustrated that all the Panama Canal pictures were printed in 8x10 as I had purchased the PC frame in the gift shop and that only fits 5x7 or 6x8. My one picture with Mickey at the Canal is 6x8, but I wanted to put the one of two of us in that. Guess I will have to find the one Michael Jordan took for us on Deck 10.

I was going to say the same. In the past 1-2 weeks, I got an email from Cord Camera announcing they now print 6"x8". I'm thinking they'll end up offering frames and/or mats for that size as well, if they haven't already. The cruiselines obviously know these are difficult to comeby as they want you to purchase their frames. Thankfully mainstream is catching on realizing there's quite a market out there for this size.

Hi Jeff,

I know you want to keep it simple, but you could always buy a cheap 8x10 frame and then have a matte for the picture so it fits. I've also used cardstock as a background in an 8x10 and just centered the picture on that and used double sided scrapbooking tape on the back of the picture to keep it in place. I'm excited to hear that some people have found 6x8 frames in Wal-Mart though. I'll have to look the next time I go there.

Say hi to Mina & the kids from us. Hope the school year has gotten off to a good start!:teacher:

To second what HebeJebe said,

I think one of the frames I bought (maybe the one from Target) said it was for a 5x7, but had a 1" mat in it. So take a close look at those 5x7 frames you run across. Some are 6x8 if you dont use that mat they have in there. :thumbsup2

I went to Walmart to see if I could find a 6X8 frame- they had only 1 style. It was a wood black frame. I got one!! Now I have to check what print I want to put in it. And the best part was it was only $1.50!! I thought they were more, I would have gotten another one. I also want to check out Ritz Camera and Target so I didn't go crazy buying all the same. Thanks!

Just one little complaint, I don't like how all the pictures seem to be in 8x10 or 6x8 and you dont get to choose the size. "This is the only size you can get this photo in", I also would like some of the pics without the borders they add. I would like to pick and choose what I want added to my photo. I'm a little disappointed

I for some reason thought I could ask for photo to be reprinted without border but it would still be in whatever size.

Hi, we asked was told this is the only way the picture comes. I wish now that I had asked someone else again. I do remember years ago that if you wanted a 6x8 or an 8x10 of a certain print they would do it for you. Some of the borders are nice, but sometimes, you just want the picture. Thanks for the info and I will be sure to ask again in the future!

Couldn't you just take it to say,Walgreens, put it into the photo print kiosk and resize it to say,5x7 or 8x10? Just a thought. :confused3

K mart has 6 X 8 frames....I about fell over in the aisle when I saw them. $5.00 each to boot.

Good Luck!

I bought a photo album onboard the Magic for all of our 6x8's as I knew we'd have problems getting either an album or pre-made frames for that size once we got home to Scotland. :headache: The album I bought holds 40 photos - and was almost full before I left the ship. :rolleyes1

I was pretty pleased with myself about my purchase because when I went to check out, I found out it was reduced to $8.99! To my delight, it was also a lot easier to transport the photos home in good condition! :thumbsup2
