Fractured my pinky toe, need to use wheelchair at Disney

I think you should have it cut off.

Ronnie Lott who was an amazing football player for the San Fran 49ers had part of his finger amputated so that he could play in a play-off game.

I think Disney is just as important.:rotfl2:

Oh no you di -uhndt! :lmao::lmao:

hi there, years ago I hit my pinky toe on our banister...never confirmed with the doc it was broken, but assumed so when within seconds of hitting it, my entire foot, top and bottom, was bruising...the pain when I hit it dropped me to my knees, wow! But I had less than an hour to gather my kids for their school fun day at the beach....I drove the 45 min drive and spent the entire day at the beach...had some discomfort for sure, but it really never stopped me from anything except wearing real shoes, haha...it has been years and if I even tap that toe against Something, it still hurts...hopefully u can find the right shoes and stay on your feet! Good luck :goodvibes

Although you do not need a GAC if you have a wheelchair, I would still stop by City Hall. They will have a Guide for Guests with Disabilities that will show you how to enter various rides at the parks.

Thanks everyone! I am back.
Surprisingly, my broken pinky toe did not bother me during my 4 days of Disneyland visit. I was just unable to walk fast, so I sent my older kid to get fast pass for us. No problem for getting Star Tour FP!! We had a great time.

But driving over 350 miles back home after 4 days of exhaustion was a pain.

That is wrong. I didn't know what a GAC was and the first ride I got on, I was told to get the GAC because I couldn't get in and out of the caterpillar fast enough. The guy said I needed a GAC so that they could slow down the ride, etc. Also, like on Snow White and those rides you have to go in through the exit or park the ECV outside, they needed to see it. This is especially true if there are more than 6 in your party. Now, to the OP, I would rent an ECV. We got one from Deckert Surgical sent right to the hotel, for 40 dollars a day. It was a lifesaver. I don't think that my family could have pushed me through the parks, and I couldn't have walked. It was the best decision I made!

Glad it worked out for you. Those pinky toes are so vulnerable when they're broken (mine hurt like h*ll the first few days!)

Now - rest up after your vacation!:rotfl2:

I would not confine myself to a wheelchair for a small toe fx. I would tape it every day or more often if it gets wet and wear hard soled shoes. I have broken my toes more time than I can think. Have fun.

Jack

I can't answer the questions about how to use the wheelchair but I'm sorry you broke your toe! I just recovered from my pinky toe break!! Mine hurt like crazy but I think I would've taped it and tried walking the first day if I could. A wheelchair would SUCK!!

What about crutches? Can you borrow some from somebody???

OOPS! Just saw your update!! I'm glad you're ok!

I did this 2 days before our last trip to Universal and was fine. I wore a not-too-tight-fitting pair of Sketcher hiking shoes with virtually no pain. Take some ibuprofen before you go to the park and then ice it down at the end of the day. IMHO, a wheel chair will be more trouble than it's worth.
