FPs for MK on a party day (before 7:00) or Epcot later that night?

My 4 year old niece and I will visit MK around 1:00 on our arrival day, Sept 12 (after waking up at 5:30am to fly from Pittsburgh, eek).

Night of Joy (which we're not going to) will kick us out of MK at 7:00, at which point (or earlier) we'll head to Epcot. Will the crowds be thin enough at MK that FPs at Epcot make more sense? On the other hand, we're going to Epcot for a half day later in the weekend, and there don't seem to be enough FP experiences for a 4 y/o to warrant 6 FPs over a 3-day trip.

So far our schedule is:
Sat: Arrive MK at 1:00, Crystal Palace at 4:00, leave for Epcot around 6:00
Sun: MK all day with BOG lunch, casual dinner but hoping for a Chef Mickey spot
Mon: DHS morning, Epcot afternoon with Garden Grill at 5:25
Tues: Ohana or Cape May breakfast, Magical Express at 12:00

I'd make FP+'s at the MK. As you say, there aren't many things at Epcot for little ones that you'd need a fp+ for.

We're going to be there during that time and we have the same park plans for that day (MK during the day and hop to Epcot for the evening). We're using FP at MK that morning. There are just so many more options and FP-worthy rides/waits at MK. Plus, it's really the only park where you can get meaningful 4th FP+ by using the first 3 earlier in the day.

You could make an argument for getting late FP at Epcot IF your child is tall enough (and interested in) riding Test Track or Soarin', because outside of rope drop or waiting for a long time standby, that's the only way you'll get to ride one of those two rides. Especially considering MK should be less busy that day (low crowd season party night) and you can get a lot done without FP+.

However if you're not doing Test Track or Soarin', I'm suspecting getting evening FP+ at Epcot would be a complete waste. Everything other than those two rides I would guess would be walk ons during evening EMH.

I just wanted to start off by saying, flying at 5:30 in the morning from pittsburgh is the worst! (Mayorga Coffee has an amazing blueberry muffin though ;))

Since your niece is 4, I would assume she would be into the 'kiddie' rides at MK. When my sister was that age, she absolutely LOVED The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh ride. We both still do! I'm not sure how crowded the parks will be during night of joy, but the line for this ride is usually around 30 minutes. There is an interactive queue that I'm sure she would love though!
Also, I would try buzz lightyear space ranger spin, it's super fun!

I would definitely go for fastpasses at MK instead of epcot. There is more for your niece to do there and it is so much more worth it. I wouldn't waste them on rides she may be scared on.

Also, if you use up all of your fastpasses for one day you can always go to a kiosk and add another one!

Have a good trip! And good luck at the airport ;)
