DH and I are taking our 2 year old on her first Disney trip this summer and I’m not sure what to fastpass at each park. She’s only 37” tall, so all roller coasters but barnstormer are out of the question. What have those of you with short/young kids done? Also, in the past (without kids), we have scheduled most fast passes for the evening since we could get so much done with shorter lines in the morning, but would it be smarter to do mornings since she may not make it too far into the evening?? Thanks!

For Magic Kingdom, there is plenty of options with Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan and Pirates being three huge attractions to FP even if under 38". Animal Kingdom I also think has some good options with Kali River Rapids, Safari and Navi River Journey.

At MK Jungle Cruise is another good option. I would definitely do Peter Pan. The PPs other suggestions are good ones as long as your daughter doesn't scare easily. Ours works not have wanted to go on HM and my son did not like Pirates at that age because it was too creepy for him.

On our first visit when my younger daughter was 2, we used our FPs for character meets since we didn't want to spend time waiting in line for those. Most of the kid rides had short/no lines (except PP) for the first two hours of the morning, then we did some character meets before and after lunch before heading back to the resort for a break. The good thing about using your FPs earlier in the day with a little one is that most of the rides that have the greatest availability for additional FPs after your initial three are the rides with no height restrictions (Small World, Teacups, etc), so you could get some extra FPs later in the day if you had used your first 3 in the morning.

We just took our granddaughter for 1st time and we FP for PP HM and JC at magic kingdom the rest of the rides she could do we waited but waits were average 10 min. For Epcot we did Spaceship earth Frozen and Living with the land, again rest of rides she could ride really no lines. Animal kingdom we did Navi and Safari. We planned early mornings and naps in afternoon in her stroller and we left each day by 5 or 5:30 she wouldn't last all day. She did real well!

Without a doubt do Peter Pan. I would think Haunted Mansion would scare a two year old during the beginning when you are in a completely dark room with screaming, etc. Also Winnie the Pooh and Jungle Cruise.

I would do fast passes late morning or have an early lunch and schedule them for very early afternoon. I wouldn't schedule any fast passes right around 3 PM if you want to watch the parade. We usually do rope drop, ride as much as we can get in until crowds get big, then do fast our pass rides followed by the attractions that don't require much of a wait such as Country Bear jamboree, Tiki Birds, Carousel of Progress, MOnsters Inc. We detest long lines with or without kids, and do everything to avoid them!!

We've taken our preschooler numerous times when he was that age, and here is what we usually FP:

MK:
-Peter Pan (unless you rope drop, this line gets LONG)
-The Jungle Cruise (also can typically get to 45-60 min. during peak times, and it's not the best queue for that long)
-Our third usually varies between Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, the Tomorrowland Speedway (b/c my son loves that ride, but the fumes are horrible), and Enchanted Tales with Belle.

Before I would have recommended using one for talking Mickey, but he's supposed to lose his voice this month. If you want to meet any of the princesses, that would be another option. We've had luck picking up Tinker Bell as an additional FP+ several visits, as well as Ariel.

Our plan is usually to head straight to Fantasyland (Dumbo, Barnstormer, Under the Sea, Small World, etc.) first thing and have our FP+ from late morning to early afternoon. Then watch the Festival of Fantasy Parade, pick up whatever additional FP+ we can get, and play the rest of the day by ear.

Epcot:
-Frozen
-Character Spot
-#3 is a toss up. We usually use it for Spaceship Earth or Living with the Land (my son loves it), but you could also use it for Journey into Imagination or the Seas with Nemo (but we can usually pick that up as an additional FP as well).

DHS:
-Depending on when you are going, I imagine you want to use your Tier 1 for one of the Toy Story rides, based on your preference
-The rest there is rough with younger kids, because while you have options like Muppet Vision 3D and Disney Jr. - Live on Stage, you really don't need FP+ for either of those - or any of the shows for that matter. If it's really busy, you could use one for the Frozen or Little Mermaid show, but we usually use our additional two for "grown up" rides with Tower of Terror and Star Tours and take turns with FP+ or use rider swap.

AK:
-Navi River Journey (b/c she's too short for Flight of Passage. However, if you want to ride Flight of Passage, have one parent get a FP+ and do rider swap while the other parent takes your daughter on Navi River Journey with a FP+. There's been occasional reports of cast members requiring that both parents have a FP+, but we've never done it that way or had an issue.)
-Kilimanjaro Safaris
-Adventurers Outpost (the only spot you can meet Mickey and Minnie together)

We just took our son who is 2.5 yo. We stayed in the parks all day (basically open to about 9pm) and I had our FP starting around 9:30-10am, depending on the day and no later than 2pm so we could get some more in the afternoon/evening. My husband and I still like doing the thrill rides, so many of our FP were for those - Splash, BTRR, Space, SDMT, FOP, EE, ToT, and RnR. We did rider swap for them, and it gave my son a nice break from rides and the chance to have some ice cream or a popsicle in the shade. :)

I definitely recommend using FP for PP though! I decided to book it for both of our MK days and was so happy I did because my little guy LOVED flying in the boats and seeing Captain Hook. It doesn't hurt that I also love this ride!

For 4th FP and on in MK, we were able to get JC (he was asleep though), Pirates (he was a little scared, but he was also tired), Tomorrowland Speedway (twice - he loved it!), Barnstormer (twice in a row), and Winnie the Pooh. We rode standby for Little Mermaid (5 min), Small World (twice - 10 min wait, this was one of my son's favs!) and Haunted Mansion (10 min wait - he was a little nervous at first, but ended up loving the ghosts).

So, personally, I wouldn't use my first 3 FP on too many of the kid rides as they are pretty easy to get on using standby or 4th FP and on. But if you and your husband aren't planning to do the thrill rides, then just pick the rides yout hink your daughter would like the most! Plenty of time to repeat her favs, too. :)

MK - Peter Pan, Jungle Cruise, Pirates or Buzz
Epcot - FEA, Spaceship Earth, Nemo
AK - Navi, Safari, FOTLK
DHS - TSMM or AS2, don't really need FP for anything else

Personally I would start the FPs for around 11am, when the crowds start to get heavier. Then you can try for more after using the first 3, or take a break if the 2 year old is needing one.

Awesome! thanks for the info. Did you have any trouble doing rider swap at FOP?? Going with my husband and daughters (3&5) and I was planning on just getting one FP for FOP and 3 FP for navi so they can ride navi while I'm at FOP and then my husband can ride FOP with the rider swap pass but I heard they were asking for 2 FPs if you wanted to do rider swap at FOP....

We actually both had FP for FOP because I was nervous about the same thing after reading about it here. We still got a rider swap just in case it took longer than our FP window, and they never asked if we both had a FP and gave us the rider swap without a problem. We were both able to use our FP so we decided to pixie dust a family of 3 heading into Pandora as we were leaving by giving them the rider swap ticket. :)
