I seriously can't grasp how people think this system is in any way fair. My 60 day window just opened today and i am already unable to get a FP for Wishes or the night time parade. I can get Seven Dwarfs only at an extremely inconvenient time on a day we don't plan to be at MK.

Are we now planning our trips around what FPs we can get? Why the heck is anyone allowed to book any day more than 60 days out?

The system sucks. I think my days at Disney are numbered.

From what I've read the fireworks and parades ones don't open up till closer to your visit.

I don't think that many people are saying it's fair really. The system definitely works better for those who have booked longer trips, and those are the ones that Disney wants to "reward", for lack of a better word. They have the benefit of booking for their entire trip at once. I benefited from it, as we are going for 11 nights, but I realize it's not "fair" to those who are staying for shorter trips.

Also I was surprised I was able to get all of the parades and Wishes because at the time I booked I was still under the impression that they weren't usually offered at 60 days, but at that point they were.

I hope you are able to get what you want - I know people are often cancelling things!

Unfortunately, that situation appears to be inconsistent.

I'm not looking forward to it either, I haven't had to deal with it on any trip yet... and I already have half of our days planned out without having the fp's... so I guess when the time comes, if I can't get the fp's for the days I have planned, then we'll just make sure we get to rope drop and wait in lines... hopefully the week in Jan. that I'm going won't be too crazy busy, but it is Disney so even the quiet days are busy. lol It sure does take some of the fun and excitement out of it for me, though. :(

It's the inconsistency that bugs me most... like when the fireworks dessert party used to open for booking at some random date. I had an Excel spreadsheet for that alone!! Min, Max, Avg days until event.. oy!! :rotfl:

Don't lose hope...... I think a lot of people scramble to book anything they can.... and then change those plans a TON in the following days and weeks, especially as the date approaches.

I don't know if it would be better or worse if you had to book every day of your trip individually at a 60 day mark instead of your whole trip at the 60 day mark? Hope that came out clear.

I just returned from a seven day trip and, thanks to FP+, I stood in fewer than five lines of any appreciable length during the entirety of the trip (and the crowds were significant). We also took advantage of the FP stations to schedule additional FP's when our pre-arranged passes had been used. The end result was we toured far more efficiently than in any of our 15+ previous visits, and our enjoyment increased significantly.

In short, I was a bit of a skeptic who now can be called a true believer.

This is how I think we'll feel. It's been a lot of work to manage in the planning phase, but I do think it will help to have those MUST-do attractions be guaranteed with no lines. To me, it's going to make our trip much more enjoyable. I will also echo that people are "hoarding" reservations which is understandable, but makes it hard to get what you want without really stalking, and a LOT will open up as your trip approaches.

I worked backwards and started on my last park day. Was able to get pretty much everything I wanted when I wanted right at the 60 day window.

Then again, we are staying 11 days so its a bit easier at the 60 day window.

Good luck to you!

Sorry that's the case. :( So 60 days from today is 10/27... I didn't think it would be so busy then. We're going 10/9-10/20, and I was able to get 7DMT for four people for every day of our trip at multiple times except on our first day. Were you on right at midnight? Maybe very large party?

I have to agree that so far I really despise this new system! I'm waiting on military tickets to be released, 15 days into our window and at this rate it looks like I'll be lucky to even get them 30 days before. I also am not enjoying that I not only have to plan which park we'll be in and what we'll be eating, but then I'm going to get the super fun experience of getting fps for a party of 8 at the last minute that don't interfere with those dining reservations it took me forever to get! Ack!
This has been a very un-magical experience so far!

The OP is clearly having a different experience.

Don't panic... things open up as you get closer. Just put yourself down for something now, and once every few days or a week, just check and see if things opened up. I've got some days in september and was able to get some pretty good mine train fps and other times i wanted just by checking availabilities each night. They weren't there the moment my window opened.

The secret is to get on right at Midnight starting your 60 day window. For some of the more popular things try to book them closer to the end of your trip vs the begining. Also try to adjust your FP+ somethimes just doing that will open up a better time. It takes a little playing around with but it does work. Don't give up. If all else fails keep checking regularly things do sometimes open up. Good Luck and I do think many feel your pain

This secret doesn't work for many.

Now think if you're offsite or local and can only book at the 30 day point...and think how little selection is left for any "newish" experiences...

Maybe not for A&E for shorter trips. But 7DMT? I had multiple time slots available beginning Day 2 of my trip in Oct. But I was on right at midnight. I've read the same from many other posters as well.

Have we heard of many people on right at midnight who could hardly get a 7DMT slot in Oct? You're on way more than I am, so perhaps I've missed it.
