FP+ when not staying on property

I have been to Disney 3 times in the last few years but not with the new FP+ . We are coming to Orlando and planning on doing MK for 1 day over the summer. Am I able to book FP without staying on property ahead of time or do you have to be staying on property to book ahead?

You have to be staying on property to book ahead...as of right now. Things may be changing in the future.

Right now, you have to do it in the park. This may change as I know they have been testing advanced FP+ for offsite guests and they tested each segment of FP+ before rolling it out to those guests. There is no way to know if and when it will be rolled out to offsite guests. I noticed the queues can be quite long. The ideal strategy is to get to the park at RD and ride all your must dos then FP+ anything you missed or want to do again.
