FP + What we know and what we want to know

What's entirely a rumor is the concept that you'll be able to get old-fashion FP once FP+ goes live.

We know FP+ is replacing FP and they intend to do away with FP entirely.

When you say 'We know FP+ is replacing FP' where are you getting that information? Are you making an assumption? or do you really know? If you really know that this is happening could you please note your source, becuase I have not hear that this is happening... just rumors.

our FP practices managed to mess up the whole system for everyone (which "forced" this change).

And another elephant in the room is that a lot of people who didn't use the FP system well before will be better with changes.

So do anyone think that IF FP+ is the only option that there will be no problems with kids using adult FP+ or adults using a kids FP+?? I don't see how one matters more than another but could see Disney not letting a ticket for a 3 year old ride SM that they aren't able to ride anyway.

I doubt it because that isn't a problem now :confused3 All you need is a valid park ticket to pull a FP for any attraction

I also was able to pull more than one FP for ride. I will be unable to do that with FP+.

When can you start reserving your FPs?
Is this going on now? Can't find my answers. :confused3

We are booked for Feb 9th-14th and want to know if we can start reserving now or is it not happening during out trip thanks. :goodvibes

Well i hope you're visiting in the next 30-45 days :P

I'm not, sadly enough.

I just keep shaking my head over this. I'm glad it's going to be "magical" for some, but it will definitely not be for us. When my boys, during Star Wars Weekend, discover that they will be limited to 1 FP for a headliner, they will be upset. That's their favorite park. (They are 26 and 21.)

Disclaimer: I totally get that some people think I'm acting like Glum from Gulliver's Travels. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqALm_rmM1g

However, I think that the changes people are discussing lean to the probability side rather than the "maybe" side. And it will drastically change my plans. I will have to rethink every ADR, BBB, and our SWW touring. Our park hopping plans...all of it that I've been working on for almost a year will have to be tossed.

If I am wrong, I'll come back and admit it. I'll be happy to admit I was wrong in this instance!

We know FP+ is replacing FP and they intend to do away with FP entirely.

And if they do it in one day, or over one week, and allow no in-park FPs, there will be nobody in the FastPass lines. They'll certainly need to have reservations in place before they cut off the old system. Too many complaints from surprised guests otherwise.

FP's aren't a privilege because they're available to everyone who has a valid park admission. If you pay extra for it, it becomes a privilege. :confused3

Umm.. no? That's not how a privilege even works in the first place..

But to rant about how things are being ruined by creating rules to stop abuse and to imply people weren't gaming the system beyond its intended use (FP is assigned to a person, not to whoever wants to use it that you happen to know) is just getting silly.

And immediately during discussion it's "How can I game the system beyond the intended use to benefit myself by doing things that are dishonest and deceptive?"

And people at the same time are posting "I don't see why Disney would change things, I don't understand why..."

Well the WHY is obvious.

From everything I have heard it is an option to use FP+ not a requirement. And I have not heard (other than assumptions) that FP is going away if you choose not to enroll in FP+.
You can still enjoy the parks like you do now, until you are told otherwise.

Lastly, I find it amusing that we are such a small minority that Disney doesn't care about our opinion, or how it will affect us, but yet we are a big enough group that our FP practices managed to mess up the whole system for everyone (which "forced" this change).

Actually, I've been arguing (I think) that it's not the behavior of the small minority that Disney is trying to change. It's the bahavoir of the great majority. The small minority is just a casualty of war.

Even if all the FP-savvy guests all decided to take only 3 FPs per day... or if Disney reprogrammed the FP machines to only issue 3 per ticket per day... the people who didn't use FP before STILL would not use FP. That is what FP+ is meant to fix. IMHO.

I agree! Which is why we have only done Disney. When I showed up each morning I am just like everyone else that shows up that day. My ticket isn't any more special than anyone else's. Someone that has more money to spend on their ticket than me. This is one of the things that made Disney better than anywhere else!

Unless things stay exactly the same between now and my trip, I will not be able to enjoy them as I do now. FP+ will not be a "requirement," true. However, it is at some point going to be the only option available.

Sorry, I'm not drinking the "everything is going to be just fine" Flavor-ade.

Why not? How do you know that at some point it is going to be the only option. All I am saying why let the 'Thought' of something that is not even anything more than a rumor ruin your trip before it even begins.

I am not crazy enought to think that there is no way that it won't ever change but I am also not going to let peoples rumors ruin my trip worring about what might happen someday.

What are these great FP abuses?? I only used FP like Disney told me to. I came at RD, pulled a FP, rode a ride and then either pulled another FP (if my time was open), got in another SB like or rode the ride I had a FP for. How is that abuse?? You can only pull a FP when Disney allowed it and now you can only ride during your alloted time. If they wanted me to pull less FP's then make it longer window before I can get another one. But one day we spent 16 hours in MK and to ask me to do that with only 3 or 4 FPs may be too much to ask. We would be leaving the park early and not spending anymore money inside the park. But I know Disney won't miss us or our money.
