Absolutely...

We've been so many times, that the rides aren't really important, but in December, we were able to get regular Fastpasses aside from FP+.
So you used FP+ with FP- right?

Wait I'm confused...
So you would chose to opt into FP+ , knowing you couldn't us the regular FP?
This means your limited to 3 fastpass pre day..

And what would you three be?

In December we used both FP + & regular FP in the same day. We were in HS and had FP+, but we were able to get regular FP too. I really can't say what 3 they'd be, because it would depend on the park, hours and our dining ressies.

So then 3 days in MK now?
One for mt. One for alternate Belle, Peter, and M&G with princesses, and one for fireworks and shows ?

Now what about the other parks?
Two days in each to do the same?

Maybe this is what disney wants.. If people are willing to stay longer.. It's starting to become clear..

We did Mtn, Belle, and MSEP all on same day. Other parks didn't have as many choices so MK was the only park we would need to do FP+ twice to get all our must dos. Again, we could have gotten some of them but just arriving early. We could knock out the Mountains in MK while everyone else raced to Fantasyland.

We would most likely spend the day at SW with the kids.. And book ADR for MK around 6:30 with FP+ to follow..

The sad thing is we have been 4 time to WDW and never step off one foot off disney property!!!
We loved every min..

However since we can't do everything we want anyways.. Due to being forced to stand in longer lines ( which will not go over well with any parent who had young kids)

We will pick a few things, that are must do's and then look else where we can be more fixable..

I think this is what will happen more often.. Once people figure out how to use FP+

Well, I'm pretty dense.

So...... just for the record. Why don't you specify for us how people were actually gaming the system. Just what dishonest an deceptive things were they doing?

All this "cloak and daggar" innuendo is getting old.

I'm going to assume Disney won't care if I give my daughter my FP for ToT next time we get there.

Because if they were indeed the sort of company that would refer to me as "scum" for doing so, then I would have to immediately stop going. To any of their parks. Ever.

And before anyone asks, yes, I am the sort to cut my nose off to spite my face.

:thumbsup2 I doubt that anyone from Disney said that. I wouldn't put too much stock in many what people on the boards say, most of it's conjecture, panic or "information they know from a source" Until they start being right about anything, I'm not going to worry.

And that pretty pink bracelet covered in pixiedust! pixiedust:

I want mine to have diamonds (well at the very least, some crystals!)

(I stopped ready at page 103, too many pages to deal with now :lmao:)

Are you actually prepared to spend $90 just for a morning at USO/SW?

We don't like UO but we would visit SW for a few hours in the morning, regardless of the cost, especially if we had already been on that trip. This time, we are spending at least 2-3 days at SW

Can I asked you why you opt into Fp+? With not be able to use regular Fp..

Is it bc you can pick your times.. Different Fp options? Not rushing at RD?
Is it the sleeping in?!?! Trust me this is good reason for me.. Although my kids would have me up anyways..

First - FP enforcement "doom and gloom" did occur UNCFanatik - touring in Spring Break 2012 was far less easy/enjoyable than previously. We rode fewer rides, missed some FP times and generally criss crossed more. And I knew and planned for the change well in advance. That is just a fact - it was not better for us, it was worse.

I agree with this. Comparing our Dec 2011 trip with our Dec 2012 trip, we definitely did less rides in 2012 then in 2011 all because we couldn't stockpile FP for use in the evenings.

Yes, I love it that some people think I'm gaming the system by using a discount (FL resident) that Disney offers me ( I can see that you were being sarcastic :)). If they didn't WANT me to use it, why did they send me a reminder card with a renewal discount when my passes expired? Wait, that's an extra discount I used. That's double-gaming the system! Shoot, and my daughter and I use my DH and DS's SM fastpasses, since they can't ride that ride.

And by the by, yes, they say nontransferable, but right now there's no way to identify whose is whose. So if I accidentally use my son's FP instead of mine, by the letter of the law (which is what some people are absolutely sticking to) I'm as guilty as the person who gives hers away. Which is yet another reason why I think it's silly to argue that it's unethical to let your child use your FP. I personally believe that the "nontransferable" fine print (the SPIRIT of the law) was intended to stop the sale of fastpasses. It's easier to use a blanket term rather than stipulate what a "sale" is. But that's just my opinion. So if someone wants to think I'm abusing the system or deceptive for letting my child use a FP that I paid for, that's their opinion. Maybe we should call the Supreme Court in on this one.

YES!!!!!! Thank you for writing this. The misunderstanding of the intent of "nontransferable" has been driving me crazy!!!!

OK, let me say this...since becoming DVC members, I tour the parks with the idea that I don't have to do everything every time - because I know I will be back. I just don't know when, exactly...and now with two kids and rising airline costs, we're doing our trips differently - planning longer ones in general, further apart.

But I would still be upset if I wasn't able to do all the things I _wanted_ while I was there because of these limits. I don't want to have to spend 3 separate days at MK just to do the the mountains without a two hour wait in line. ESPECIALLY in the hot sun at Splash Mountain. Did that in 97...will never do that again.

We tested FP+ in December & LOVED it... :cheer2:

But...

FWIW...I was just advised that it should be in place & functional by our Mid/Late March trip. pixiedust:

This may be a nosey question, but who just advised you of this? Apparently someone you trust as an authoritative source?

I did use regular FP in December in conjunction with FP+ :) But...I'd still use FP+ even if I couldn't use regular FP because when we go, there's just a small number of things that I really find a need or desire to visit...So...FP+ makes it easier for us to see those few things.

Me too! I posted a while back about how I don't ride much and my husband does, and so sometimes we use my ticket to get him FPs so he can ride without me spending my WHOLE day alone. We also often give ours away if we're not going to end up using them. I was "corrected" and was told that it was not the proper way to use FPs. It made me feel like I had been doing something "wrong," so I'm glad others feel the same way we do :thumbsup2

I would think mid March makes more sense, right? Would they really try to implement this for the first time during Spring Break!?!? :scared1:

Yes, Yes they would. :)

And isn't "Spring Break" and "Mid-March" synonymous?

Just a note.. it has been mentioned that 1/3 of the turnstiles are converted.. and that another 1/3 is closed.. and the theory is that 1/3 will remain for the old ticket types...

Umm, no.

Once the 2/3 are converted they'll close the last 1/3 for conversion soon thereafter and begin issuing RFID to all passes via RFID stickers. That'll be the way of doing things until all guests are converted to new passes with RFID or wristbands. They'll stop doing it right at the gate or bag check with handheld PCs once they feel the number of guests is low enough and begin directing those guests to ticket windows and guest services to be converted.

mousermerf - I'm confused. The best way I know to ask this is by example so here goes:

Let's say for the purposes of this example FP+ has been rolled out at BWI and BC, all entrance gates are now RFID, and FP- is still in use for everyone that cannot use FP+ yet. If I am staying at BWV(not FP+ yet) and my AP has now been added to my room key using an RFID sticker so I can use the entrance gates, can I still use FP-? If so, how?

Did this someone give you an actual date or date range? Just wondering b/c some of us with Feb trips are wondering...

I didn't ask about specific dates, only about the dates that I'm travelling. I was told that communication would be sent to resort guests once we could oficially book our FP+ times.
