FP + What we know and what we want to know

I've come to the conclusion that some posters enjoy just spinning the top and watching it spin 'round and 'round. It seems that's all they ever do.

Yup and it could just be easy to do as well. You dont know...because like i said...conjecture.

What if..perish the thought, that all of this turns out better than you expect...*gasp*

Then I'll come back on here and let everyone know what my experience was. I did do that with the FP window enforcement when we went this past summer.

Oh I'm sure disney will set up a charging station for all or us. It will be linked to Fp+ so we can reserve our charging time or they will have a credit card kiosk so they can charge us for the electricity.

I am very disappointed in Disney. Looking to sell my DVc

Disappointed in what Disney has announced, or what you're reading on here about what Disney will do? I wouldn't put that much stock in the latter - so much here is pure conjecture and emotion - I certainly wouldn't make any decisions based upon it! Just my two cents. :)

Again *gasp* the point where I said that it wouldn't? I'm unsure if you have read my posts but most of the time I'm telling people not to panic until the "real information from Disney is released. :confused3 Guess you happened to miss those ones?

This is a discussion board. That means it is a board to discuss things. Good things, bad things, thoughts, feelings, ideas. If you don't like to discuss things, why are you on a discussion board? :rotfl2:

Hmmm....and if I didnt like discussing things why would i be on a discussion board. Presenting an different opinion is not the same as saying people should not discuss matters.

I just find it interesting that people seem to be looking for any and all reasons to dislike the new FP+ before even giving it a chance.

I am saying that people presumed to know what Disney was going to do, much like they are in this FP+ instance. And they turned out to be wrong then.

Therefore, people should be wary of these same people making predictions in this instance ESPECIALLY since the program hasnt even been rolled out yet

Seems logical to me. :)

And how does this post relate to the topic on hand?

You wouldnt be trying to keep a top spinning, would you...

Your passive aggressiveness is showing

Of course, if I kept the top spinning with negative conjecture like most of the rest, you would just nod in agreement

Because calling people "entitled" is SO positive...:rolleyes1

The way people are behaving in this thread is deplorable. The good news is that in a few weeks the system will start being rolled out and some folks are going to have to scurry back under their rocks.

And just like now....if an FP+ window, is approaching then dont get in the SB line until later. With the only 3 rumored FP+ times, people should have no problems planning around them

And if we are dealing in conjecture here....they could change their FP+ time using their smart phones.

For people keeping up with what we do know. Vice President in charge of the myMagic+ and the next gen initiative Nick Franklin did specifically say the number was three FP+ with opportunity for other "surprise and delight" offers throughout the day. The link is on the first page. I wouldn't call that a rumor.

The speculation or hope comes in with idea that Disney will see that this curtails the experience of some guests and will adjust that number. There is also hope that there could be FP+ available for people to grab with their phones in addition to their advanced FP. But there is no evidence that this is true, nor does it fit the mission of the program explained by disney: get people out of lines.

The other iffy situation is the tiers. We don't know for sure there is a one e-ticket ride limit with the three fP+. Mousermerf guarantees that it will be 1 e ticket. And all the test runs used tiers for FP choices. We have been told in numerous places that the goal is to get people out of the e ticket waits and spread people throughout park. That would lean towards tiers.

I'm not sure when I'm posting "stay calm until the actual system is revealed" is finding reasons to dislike it? What I have said is that I dislike some of the possibilities people have suggested might be how FP+ is run.

I am sorry you dont like the word but it is the root of the problem here.

People got use to touring a certain way since the rollout of FP program years ago.

People were smart to maximize the FP system and take advantage of what Disney allowed with the use of FPs.

Now, that SEEMS to be drastically changing.

Some people think now they should not have to wait in SB lines and never have to wait beyond 15-20 minutes for an attraction no matter what time of the year.

They think that Disney should always make their previous touring style possible and thus this creates an entitlement mentality.

Just listen to people.."if i cant tour the way i always have then i will not be coming back"..."i NEVER wait in lines more than 20 minutes"...etc.

Again, it is a sense of entitlement and one that was frankly enabled by Disney.

I can't speak specifically for Robo, but as I was silently reading along last evening, it really was "madness" in some of the leaps folks were making about that one line. (And this is coming from a "doom & gloomer" ;))

Personally, I think that is the line that will cover our presumption that you can only make FP+ reservations equal to the same number of days as the corresponding ticket linked to your MDE account.

It will probably also give them a CYA if they want to "shut off" someone's ability to make FP+ in the event of blatant abuse (such as an AP holder making a ressie for TSMM, ETWB etc for every day of the year and then only using 2 of 365 or some such ridiculous plan).

I see... There's just too much to follow on here now! LOL!

I have to say, though, that we could all go nuts trying to interpret any given sentence of semi-legalese! I'm just gonna' wait for more OFFICIAL info on that front. :)

Thank you, self-professed-doom-and-gloomer! LOL!!!! ;) :)

and the system hasnt been fulled rolled out yet either. As you mention, that number could be adjusted even though it was mention as 3 by the VP you mention. It could be more than 3 in the long run and that was my larger point.

Well, if you poll DISers I think your conclusion will be yes, most people get a FP for more than one headliner each day.

When you look at actual daily attendance and ride capacity numbers, you might see a different story. (Disclaimer: After a few simple google searches, I found a sampling of figures - often by people claiming to be ride operator CMs - with numbers that more or less agree with the numbers I'm presenting here. Take that for what it's worth).

Magic Kingdom annual attendance: 17,000,000
Divide that by 365 days: about 47,000 visitors per day.

Daily ride capacities for the three mountains:
(Assuming 13 hour day)
Space Mountain: 29,000
Splash Mountain: 24,000
Big Thunder Mt: 28,000
Total Mountain Rides per day: about 81,000

This would seem to indicate that the average visitor only gets to ride at most two of the three mountains per day. That's not FP, that's total ride capacity. And for every family that gets an extra ride, someone else is missing out. Also, don't forget that this is using average daily attendance, so on peak days attendance will be much higher. And sometimes ride capacities are lower than expected due to break downs, etc.

Believe these numbers or not. Take them into consideration for a possible Disney motive for limiting FPs or not. It's up to you.

And please understand that I in no way wish to discount anyone's personal heartache with such a move. It will affect me (I've been a super-user of FPs) in the same way it affects others here. I'm just here trying to wait for new information, and throwing in my 2 cents along the way.
You'd have to subtract small children and anyone else who doesn't care for "thrill" rides. Plus other entities such as locals who are there to only dine or ride one ride and people who only visit to ride a few favorites and hop elsewhere. Then there are the high volume periods such as Christmas which can throw off the numbers too. Are there are low attendance days any more?

I appreciate your point but this is hard to quantify. I still believe that most of those interested in such rides will get fastpasses for more than one ride in a given day. I might of course be way offbase.
