FP+ System is Buggy and has serious issues.

Ok, I figured it out on my PC. Go to My Profile and then MagicBands and Cards. You can click on either You Manage or You Have.

You should be able to deactivate that way. I was.

I have not had any of these issues either, but I am disappointed in Disney because other people have. I am also staying onsite, but I'm upset that other people are waiting in long lines to book their FP. I dreamed last night that Disney had cardboard FP machines that fell apart when I held up my beautiful blue magic band.

I wish u better dreams. :)

Maybe Ill check on the app. This was on the actual MDE site.

nope...same on the app. It shows both tix and says I can match them to anyone in our travelling party.

Mine was different. We had two extra guests (our clones with the same names as us) and two extra sets of tickets. So my party of two showed as a party of four. We had four magic bands and if I went in I was able to customize all of them. The issue I had and the reason I wanted it sorted out was that I didn't know which of each of our respective clones was the genuine person on the reservation and which one was not. The CM who finally got this sorted out on my fourth call to IT stated something to the tune of "I have to ask if you have not purchased an extra set of tickets." As far as she could tell, all could be used. Not much good to me. I can only enter a park once at any given time

WHY does the stupid site make me log in every time I click on something?? Grrrr...I found the spot to deactivate the cards, but it says they are active. Does this mean they think there are days left on the cards?

it's also telling me I can suctomize our magic bands now...even though we don't have tickets (unless it thinks those old tickets are really tickets??), AND it's telling me I can customize the bands for our two adult traveling companions, even though they don't have and MDE account at all yet or have it linked to mine.

:lmao: HAHA...Freudian slip.

I got distracted by what you proposed doing to your magic bands and didn't respond to your post as I had intended :rotfl2: You don't need tickets to be active to customize your bands. Your bands are your KTTW cards so you can go ahead and pick the colors and put your text on them. You can add tickets later but it's not conditional to get MB's - it's the onsite reservation that puts them into your account.

We have KTTW cards from last year's trip showing in my MDE account. Those were RFID cards that could, theoretically, be used instead of a MB.

Are those the kind of cards you're seeing? If so, they will be there even if there are no park days left on them. Ours never had park days attached.

We bought 2-day tix at check in, so I suppose they were added to our KTTW card.

OP, what did it look like when you went in to edit your FP+? Was everyone there then? I noticed something similar and panicked, but when I went in to edit, everything was correct. It didn't show on the home screen of the app (for instance, dh and oldest dd had FP+ for something and I had FP+ with the little girls for something else. If I amended a FP+, it didn't show DH's selection and when I freaked out and went to edit, it was there all along).

Yes, everyone was there before I made the change. However, after the edit, it dropped off one person in the party. I think I know why now after playing around with it and testing. We are traveling with two friends staying with us (all adults) and I have my DW and two friends in my list of friends. My DW has the same two friends in her list along with me. However, one of our friends hadn't "accepted" me as a friend yet and so when I edited the FP+ with my account, it dropped him off. When I went in with my DW's account, it surely showed him dropped off so we tried to add him back which was a futile effort.

Keep in mind, I have been in the IT industry since the 80's, know computers inside and out, develop software and Web sites and own a software business. Even with all of this, the system is not intuitive, it has bugs and caches data on your mobile device without a way to force it to refresh.

Here's a really good one though. After having our day screwed up with this edit and settling for what it gave us. We were able to see the 11:00 time for test track along with all the other times I saw originally later in the morning. We did edit (with my DW's account) the time and got the 11:00 time, but we had to wait 4 hours before it showed up again. Not sure if they are messing with the times, giving you an opportunity at those times and then somehow punishing you if you cancel (which I did during the edit).

In any case, a very odd system. If this is still in "TEST" mode and they are still trying to figure things out, they should have left the regular FP system in place until they figured this out. I think they believe it is rolled out and they are using the "TEST" as an excuse when they have issues.

So sorry you are going through this! Agreed that this should be a simple task. May I suggest when you can, to write guest communications to let them know of your real time experiences!

I have spent more than two-hours on the phone with Disney trying to add my in-laws to FP+ reservations my immediate family already had. I was either lied to by two separate Cast Members, or, these two people simply do not know the policy for Annual Passholders.

My solution: ignore the Annual Passes held by my in-laws for making FP+ reservations and make them a brand new reservation at Animal Kingdom.

So then what happened to me - it took hours more time on-line to get everything into place with FP+.

I very much enjoy planning a vacation so that my family can optimize time and benefits. However, I have reached the point where I no longer want to speak with a Cast Member (half have been incompetent) nor do I want to plan another Disney vacation.

My family is committed to traveling to Disney in late, 2014, but we will be skipping 2015 and heading to Universal.

Plainly and simply, Disney pushed me to the brink and a vacation should not be so stressful.

And the real shame on Disney, like I mentioned, half the Cast Members answering the 'technical support' phones have little to no idea about Disney's ever changing policies on obtaining FP+ reservations. And as soon as Cast Members and patrons understand it all - Disney will change policies again.

By the way, since I like to close the open loops, I get to spend even more time returning the phone call to Disney Customer Support that took them more than a week to respond to my inquiry.

The only saving grace in all this nonsense, I have spent hours taking care of this nonsense before getting to Disney. No amount of 'free meals' or 'FP Cards' can make up for the stress I have experienced at the hands of Disney.

The problem is/was if they left FP- in while testing then they can't really see full "through put" do to double dipping on their end. And of course on our end the FP+ lines would be enormous especially under heavy park load. This sure would incited more of riot than what is going on right now. But you're right in that it would have given them a "fall back" instead of yanking the rug out from all of us including them.

Being in IT, how many people do you think they've gone through during this little escapade? Its got to be a lot...

Just home from a week in WDW. In trying to use the phone app in the parks, I would get "oops there was a blip in the system, try again later" most of the time. When I did get through to change a fastpass time, there were no times available.
In talking to others while waiting in line, they are angry. One young family thought they could only go on 3 attractions because that's all the fast passes they had. They wanted to see Turtle Talk but said no times were available for them. I told them about standby and hope they did go to Crush.
Also the lines for fastpass for offsite visitors were very long, people upset about that also. It detracts from the park atmosphere to have these long lines everywhere.
An additional delay in the fastpass return lines are people who don't know the difference in standby and FP, thus they stand in the wrong line.

Wow, this is another interesting and disturbing issue. People think because there is no FP+ then there is no possible way to go on the attraction. The same thing happens with ADR's, just because there is no time available doesn't mean you can't get in stand by. I have many times even at Le Cellier and O'Hana. But I know the difference and these people didn't. That could really ruin your trip let alone not make you want to go back.

It wouldn't surprise me if this was a major contributing factor to the growing number of reports of "Wow, where are people's manners?!" complaining about 'rude' and 'miserable' guests in the parks. Well stick them in a line that says 15 minutes and takes them 45 or let them believe that the bottom of the pot 3 FPs they were left with to choose from are as good as it gets and I can very well see people being unhappy.

By comparison, there is no question that the previous system was so much simpler. Sure, there were always people who didnt know how to use it and perhaps missed out, but none of my real life Disney going friends are planners, bar one of them. The planners I hang out with are all on the DIS. Yet those people I know would turn up, grab legacy FP the day of and use the SB lines and kept going back. I will wait and see how they feel with the changes. I don't tell them to plan because that's not the way they like to vacation. And here I am, someone who loves planning my trips, feeling like this is just way too much work because not only do I no longer get to choose what I do on the spur of the moment or day of like I've always done, but now I'm being told WHAT to plan if I want a chance of doing a fraction of what we used to accomplish in a regular park day. I resent that. Instead of making autograph books and changing ADR's every few weeks during the count down, I'm sitting fiddling with a glitchy app and just hoping and praying it sort of works when I really need it to .... This isn't vacation planning. This is a second job. Only I had to pay a whole lot of cash out to be allowed to work it :headache:

I agree but what thing i just realized is with the old system you weren't being forced to pre plan so you just went to the parks, learned of FP-, used it if you chose, and just stood by on the rest of the rides/attractions. Now that has all changed with the pre-planning FP+ model. If you didn't know any better then you might actually think the only way you can do anything is with a FP+ just like the the previous thread described. Now none of us would ever think this because we know better but these people didn't. This is a problem. The same thing is going on in assuming that all are tech savvy in which they're not, especially the elderly. I know for fact this is widely an issue.

Disney is assuming too much.

Yes and globally messing with the emotional stability of the parks is a very dangerous thing. Its what I call messing with their "core". It will make it very unstable as described so often as of late. Simply, it can/will take the Disney out of Disney if they're not careful. There is no magic when people are confused and/or p***** off. And when there's lines of them it will affect the guests around them.

Totally understand your frustration! I've actually changed our August vacation. My family was supposed to stay at AKL Club Level for 10 days to celebrate DD's 16th birthday. When I told her about the changes she asked if we could do something else. Her BBF will be joining us as well. So ultimately, we will only be at Disney for 5 days and then visiting US for the very first time ever.

I am cautiously optimistic that by August, these problems will be resolved. My family will take these 5 days to evaluate what we think which will determine any future plans.

I still think that everyone should contact guest communications to inform them of their real time experiences. It's one way to at least let them know how you feel, good or bad!
