FP Soarin or Test Track

We will be going to Epcot on Sunday, March 1, getting there probably around 5 PM. Would it be better to get a FP for Soarin or Test Track for around 5 PM (the first 2 FP for that day we will have at another park)?

I just read where you can't make advanced FP at different parks? So if I get 3 a day to start with, the first 3 have to be at the same park if I do it in advance? Also, can only 1 of the 3 be a tier 1 ride?
First time back to Disney since this advanced FP started, so trying to figure it out.

Correct, you can not make fastpass in advance at 2 different parks. All 3 in advance need to be in the same park and yes, only 1 can be tier 1 if its a tiered park, which I guess is all of them except MK.
Your other choices are to make one or two in one park in advance( one of which can be tier one) then you can get a tier one in another park same day if available. Our favorite thing to do is just use our three fastpasses in the first park, then when we tap into the 3rd ride, we immediately start looking for our fourth fastpass either in the same park or a different park since we park hop every day.
Also if you will be in Epcot as your 2nd park, just start searching for Test Track or Soarin after yountap into your 3rd advance fastpass. If Test track is important to you look for that first, we have found it easy to pick up multiple extra fastpasses for Soarin, and sometimes even the standby line is only 15 min., its a little harder for Test track but we have done it, but then again we go in May when its a little less crowded.

The last time we went was about 4 years ago and we didn't do the dining plan and the FP app was not in existence or I didn't know about it. This time we are trying the dining plan and with the FP advanced stuff, it has been quite a job learning all these in and outs and planning the trip.

Soarin' Totally, I feel like there is more of a chance in the stand by lines in Test Track then Soarin to move quicker or be shorter.

The standby line for Soarin' tends to have a much shorter wait later in the day; I've seen at 5-6-7pm where it's only 15-25 minutes lately. I'd get a Fastpass for Test Track instead; that ride routinely has a 60-70-minute wait.

I would get the Fp for Test Track.
Soarin' tends to not have as long of a line since opening the 3rd theater.
Also, if TT goes down, you get an anytime FP.
Once you use your first FP, you can get your 2nd and or 3rd at a different park if you like.

Epcot is our favorite evening park as it is always easy to get Soarin'/Test Track day of after we leaving our morning park. As mentioned, as soon as you scan in for your 2nd (or 3rd) FP at the morning park you can start searching for those at EPCOT, and take whichever is first available. The Tier 1 appear at the top of the list so that makes them much easier to get than something like Space Mountain where you have to scroll down. If neither is available just change the time 30 minutes and it refreshes the list. Just because it says there aren't any FP for either does not mean that there won't be 10 seconds later.

It has to be scheduled that way in advance, but if you scan it at 9 and then try to modify your 10-:10:50 FP to 9:30 it will let you.

Test Track - it’s often down so you will want that guarantee of a FP to be able to ride when it goes back up.

Soarin is quite easy to get as a 4th FP.

I just made our FPs for the first week of March and Test Track was surprisingly hard to get at 60+1.

As soon as you tap in for a FP, start trying to modify your next one earlier.

Testtrack for FP. also single rider goes relatively fast too - especially when it goes back up after a shutdown. -- double dip!

Soarin really opens up in the evening.

Just to be really clear, you can’t add another FP between the one you tapped into and the other pre-booked FP in your example because they always have to be spaced out by an hour. Also, you can’t add another FP until you’ve used your first 3. In your example if those were the only 2 FPs you pre-booked for the day (say you thought you were going to another park and changed your mind) and the second FP was at 10:30, you could add another FP between them after tapping in. But as other posters have mentioned you can move that 10 am FP to an earlier time. Some FPs (like the Tier 2s at Epcot) are easier to move up than others.

Test Track, no question. Soarin is a 5 minute movie. TT is a ride.

Get Test Track. Soarin is very easy to get as an extra fast pass and tends to have shorter standby waits overall.
