This may be long because i am long winded when i am trying to figure something out and have all kinds of details i want to give. LOL.
Me DH DS(13) DD (9) are going to WDW at the end of August. I am starting to think about FP and i dont know what to do. All 4 of us love doing alot of the rides together as a family. If this is all that we did picking our FP would be easy. DS likes to go on some rides that we do not like to go on. TOT, RNR, SpaceM, those sorts of things. I will go on Splash M and Everest with him but thats where i draw the line. DD and I will also go on Test Track with DS and I. DH can go on most things but not any roller coasters or anything that jerks as he is hurt and uses a scooter.
My question is, What do i get FP for? Do i get FP for all of us for the rides we do together? Do i do FP for DS and I or just DS for the bigger rides that he does? I wish that i could get him FP for the ones that he likes for him and FP for all of us for the "family" rides. But that would be more then 3 FP for him.
Our plans are to do RD most days and EMH. We like to take a mid afternoon break when it gets really busy and hot at the parks. Should I get FP for the family rides, and run him to the big rides he likes early when we get there? Keep in mind that i also have the added confusion that DH has his scooter and cant wait in lines long so we do use the GAC which i know has also changed and they give you return times as well. This way we have FP for all of us when it starts to get a little busier?
Help I am confused! I hope that this post makes sense!!
Please do not turn this into a bashing FP+ or GAC thread. I promise that i am not trying to get more then anyone else, this is our families situation and i am just asking for help with how others have handled this. Maybe i am not thinking of some detail that will help me figure out what to do. Thanks SOO much!

You could schedule a FP+ just for DS for one of the rides he likes and use his remaining 2 for family rides. Or, since you're planning on RD/EMH, let DS ride the headliners he likes when you first enter the park and schedule FP+ for later in the afternoon or evening.

I was thinking this as well, Just didnt know if EMH and RD were busier now because of the whole FP+ thing, Are more people getting up early and making the morning lines longer then they used to be? With all these things you have to schedule nowadays, i am wondering if i should pencil in potty breaks J/K LOL.

I agree with PP saying to rope drop for headliners and then FP+ later in the day. We are park hoppers, so I will be doing rope drop in one park in the am, then FP+ for the other in the pm- or at least that is the current plan…

One additional piece of advice: if your son is the only one who likes RNR, there is a single rider line that is usually much faster than the regular one and won’t need a FP. I am sure you could even wait in the line with him and then use the chicken exit if you did not want him to wait in it alone. I believe Everest and Test Track have these as well.

Oh- and remember that TSMM will have longer lines more quickly at rope drop for DHS than TOT or RNR will. If you all want to ride it without a FP, I would recommend doing that and then heading to the other 2. Hope that helps!
