So the last time we were there was this past April and they hadn't started max pass yet. My question is if we don't get it how does it work with the regular paper ones. Even if you don't do Max pass you still have to scan your ticket each time is this correct?

We usually have my daughter keep all the tickets in a lanyard as she runs to get FP's for us so my question is if the group of us goes up to a ride can she get out our tickets and scan them and we can just follow along behind or do we each have to physically have our ticket and scan it ourselves?

The reason I ask is it is just another way for them to get misplaced or lost.

TIA for any answers.

From what I could tell a couple of weeks ago, the regular (non-MaxPass) system hasn't changed all that much in terms of how you get your FP. You scan your ticket at each FP machine and get a paper slip (same ones) that tell you the time of your FP. Instead of being the actual FP, the paper is now just a reminder for the FP time. The biggest change is at the attraction itself; you now have to scan your ticket to enter the FP line. In most cases, I saw each person scan their own ticket. The most common exception was parents that scanned their child's ticket for them. I think it's probably faster to have your daughter hand each of you your ticket, have you scan it, and then collect them back from her. If you do opt to try and have her scan them all, please make sure you don't block access to the second scanner (mostly by clustering around the scanner making it tough for folks to get around your group). That way other guests can scan their tickets while your daughter processes all of your tickets.

I agree with the pp. When we were there two weeks ago, the CMs at the FP scanners kept asking everyone to have their own ticket out and handy. Keep in mind that you actually need to scan it twice - once when entering the queue and once before the ride loads, so it really is easiest for everyone to have their own ticket. Might be worth a laynard for each person and then handing your daughter all the tickets for a FP run.

Some folks are making photocopies of their entrance tickets to give to each person in the party when they go to use the FPs. That way the FP runner and/or adult who keeps track of the entrance tickets can still keep them all consolidated in something like a lanyard.
