FP+ Question

I haven't seen this specific question asked yet. We are a family of four and we don't all want to do some rides that we would like fastpasses for. We also do not want to do other FP+ attractions while they are doing their FP+. We want to wait for them or grab a drink or a snack, etc. How is that handled when you have to use 3 faspasses before you can get a fourth?

For instance, for Hollywood Studios, we were going to rope drop Rock'n Roller Coaster (only 1 or 2 of the kids are going on it, FP+ Tower of Terror, FP+ Star Tours, and FP+ Toy Story Mania. The two kids want to do Tower of Terror and we (parents) don't. One of the kids definitely wants to do Star Tours but the other one isn't sure and wants to wait and see when we get there. All four of us want to go on Toy Story Mania and we do all other attractions together.

Do we get Fastpasses for all four of us for each ride, even though not all of us will be going on it? We want to use up the 3 fastpasses so we can look for other fastpasses later in the day that we all want to do together. Do the unused fastpasses expire and that counts as if we used them?

I hope that makes sense.

Instead of letting the unused ones expire, switch up MagicBands or tickets and let some ride twice.

If you already know which ones you want later in the day, book those for the ones who don't want the early morning FPs. Then, try to get the 4th FPs to match for the people who have used all three.

You can Modify times and rides for all FPs whether they were prebooked or picked up as a 4th. There's no reason for the complete party to have the same FPs for the initial 3 rides if not all are in need of them.

Our group of four includes one person who doesn't ride many rides. Depending on the day and park, we will get 3 FP for 4 people, 4 for 3 people, or another combination depending on who is riding what. We just have to know which MBs go with which reservations. The unused FP will expire at the end of the return window. We try not to let any go unused if we can help it.

For the HS day that you mentioned, since there aren't that many attractions there, I'd do 4 each for ToT (the kids can ride twice), ST (for any leftover passes, some can ride twice for the different ride experience), and TSMM, which all four of you want to ride. Then you'll be on to FP #4 for all of you.

Or you could make all four for the three rides (ToT, Star, TSMM) and then switch two of the ToT FP+ to something else. The way to switch just two is to fist go in and change the time (but not the attraction) to a different time for just two. Make sure to uncheck those that want to ride ToT. Then when the new FP+ for two at the new time slides up, then click "change experience" for the unwanted one and change it to something those two want to do.

Thank you to everyone who gave us ideas! I have more options than I thought I would have! :yay:
