FP+ Now Live for November Check Ins!

Just a heads up to those not following the November thread on the Theme Parks board. Magic Bands and FP+ are now available to guests with November check ins.

The same glitch that plagued October check ins is still present. If you do not see a link for the bands you need to go through the online check in process again. Even if you get an error message, log out and then log back in. You should see the Magic Bands link on your MDE main page.

If I am on the app, where do I see this? Do I have to check in online first? I'm lost.
 
Thanks OP for the heads up. I had been checking online daily to see if I could make FP+ selections for our Nov 1st trip. I was finally able to make the reservations yesterday, but could not figure out how to order the magic bands. I tried your solution, and it worked. It took multiple tries to do online check-in, but it finally worked this morning.

After completing online check-in, I could finally customize the magic bands. Thank goodness for you post - I discovered that I only had a few days left to customize our magic bands. Nothing like waiting til the very last minute!

To PP, you are correct. To customize your magic band, you just pick the color and select the name you want on each band.

Don't mean to sound stupid here (actually I am though LoL) You mentioned online check in. Do we have to do online check in in order to customize the bands? We have never done online check in and haven't really wanted to. I am so confused about this. I logged into our MDE account just now and got a pop up to now customize our bands. It nearly knocked me out of my chair I was so shocked. I am so afraid I'm going to mess something up. Do we pick our FP times during the customization or do that after we receive them? I need help here. LoL

Some people needed to complete (or redo) online check in to get the Personalize MagicBands option, others did not.
There will be two different links on the MDE main page:
  • Personalize MagicBands (normally says Manage MagicBands)
  • Make FastPass+ Selections

As soon as your reservation is eligible, you should be able to make FP+ selections as long as you have valid park admission linked for all persons age 3 and older.
 
Thanks for clearing that up Michael. It does say "manage magicbands" on mine. I do have two more concerns. All of our ADRs are not linked to each one of us. It only has one. Should I link the other dining reservations to each member of our party before cusomizing the bands? And also when I booked our room reservations I booked a room for our DS and DGS. I put our DGS as a child but later when I ordered his ticket I realized he needed an adult pass as he is 11 years old. Do you think this is going to present a problem with the MB? Thanks so much.

Try logging out of your account and then back in. That may do the trick.

As for your ADRs, I do not think it is necessary to link them but I did it anyway. You won't need to do this before customizing the bands though. The bands do not store any information. They simply access your information in the Disney database. You can change things, cancel things, book new things and even bring them back over several years and they will work just fine.

As for your DGS, you shouldn't have any trouble. If you do end up with an issue just call the IT Desk. They are very helpful. Their number is (407) 939-7765 (press #2).

ADRs don't matter. The restaurant only sees the primary guest as listed when the ADR was made, and the number of diners. If you assign people to the ADR, it's just so that it shows under their plans.

Don't have children, so I really can't answer about DGS.

Okay now I've run into another problem. So sorry folks. I have found that I can now make FP reservations but I don't have a link to customize the bands. I went into the online check in area and it only lists one room of each of our split stay. We have two rooms booked for each stay. Will those rooms show up in the online check in after I do the one? I don't want to proceed and then have only one room in each stay to have online checking. Should I once again call IT? :worried:

So, my stay at BWV starts 11/2 but I can't make any FP+ selections b/c our APs are screwed up. We had the DVC discounted Premium AP deal and activated the green vouchers on 12/22/12. Unfortunately I didn't notice until recently that the expiration dates are wrong on all 3 of our APs. I had bought them at 3 separate times and it appears that they used the voucher purchase date as the expiration date. I've called and talked to a few different people (in the AP group and ticketing) and have been told it has to be fixed in person when we arrive. So, here's hoping there are decent FP+ choices when we arrive b/c I assume once we get our APs fixed and put onto Magic Bands we won't be able to use regular FPs (if they still exist by then). So annoyed I didn't notice the mistake while still on vaca in Dec. What a mess :(
 
I have linked our tickets to MDE. Now, I am confused though. I am going to bring them anyways, but would I not need to bring the physical ticket? I saw on another thread something that made me question this. I have 5 day tix that I bought from UT. I was planning activate them by entering the parks and then upgrade them to AP's. Now, I have the feeling that I can still do that but I will only be credited the amount I paid to UT not the price that the tickets are now worth. I can report back what I find out. Don't know if anyone else has done this yet???
 
Ok this whole magic band thing is new for me. I'll be checking into OKW on 11/11. I just got my voucher for my AP's. not sure what to do next? Help!
