FP+ newbie questions

Our Fastpass+ window opens up on Wednesday. I am new to FP+ - our first and only trip was just before they started rolling it out. I am very anxious about this and crossing my fingers that it works out. I do have a couple of questions.

I will be traveling with my husband, my daughter (11), and my son (8). My husband and my son to a lesser extent are not big thrill riders, which leads to my questions.

My husband has said just book us all on the same FP, but he is not sure he wants to ride certain things. He probably won't, but you never know. Part of it depends on what my son decides. So:

Tower of Terror - my son has said he will not ride it. So the plan would be for the two of them to just wait a little bit for us. Could the two of them "give away" their fast passes by scanning in another party of two to Tower of Terror and allow them to go through the FP line? Or would there have to be a second scan somewhere else. Alternately, could my daughter and I use their bands and ride a second time during the window?
(Same question applies to Primevil Whirl, although I think it is likely my son will ride that, so we'd only have one FP to give away.)

Mission Space - when we book, do I need to choose Orange or Green? If so, could my daughter and I choose Orange and the two of them Green? Or do we choose that day? We aren't sure if we want to try Orange (we have done Green) but I know the two of them will only do Green.

You can just exchange MBs with them and go again.

You just choose a FP for Mission Space. You choose orange or green when you get in line. No problem splitting up your party.

In my honest opinion, Primeval Whirl is way more intense than ToT. It just looks less sinister.

Are you sure you want to use a FP on Primevel Whirl? Rivers of Light, (Pandora if it's open), Everest, Safari, Kali River Rapids are all usually higher priorities.

You can also book separate FP so if they don't want to go on ToT, you could just choose you and DD for that one, and pick another like Star Tours for the two of them (unless you think you will want swap bands and ride again as mentioned above). The other hint is to reserve your FP days in order of most popular FP, so dont need to go in chronogical order. For example do Epcot day first to get Frozen ride and MK to get 7DMT, or AK to get ROL and Pandora rides. Those along with TSM in HS are ones you want to get first, and can split your choices if you have more than one day in each park. If you are RD people, you can plan to do a couple popular rides first thing, and then make FP for late morning/early afternoon(other than ROL show) when lines begin to get busier. Then as soon as you get line for your third, pull up your app to try and make a 4th, and so on.

I agree that Primevil Whirl is more intense than TOT, but everybody has their own reasons for not wanting to ride something. My son/husband may change their minds about any of it, and are ok with booking the FP just in case.

As for making FP for Animal Kingdom, we could not be less interested in the Avatar stuff, so we will happily skip that, we plan to rope drop the safari, get a FP for Dinosaur and Primevil Whirl (my daughter really loved it last time, and I thought it was fun too), and something else I don't know yet. We have done Everest before and don't really care if we do it again and are also not interested in Kali. So we are good, but thanks.

I am still wondering if we can "give away" FP by scanning in for a stranger if we decide not to ride TOT a second time.

As others have said, you can use your husband and sons MB to ride a second time, but it is not possible to "give away" a FP. If you cancel it from your phone, it will go back into the FP pool for somebody else to possibly use, but you can't walk up to someone and give them your fastpass.
