The title explains it all.

We come down middle January at low crowd times and have never needed a FP for Little Mermaid, Beauty in the Beast, Fantasmic, etc.

I assume the new sing a long area is large and can accommodate without a FP?

My assumption is as long as I get there 15 mins before show time I should have a decent seat. But then again, A&E are the "thing to see"...

Normally I probably would not use a FP on a show, but a few weeks ago we got one. With a 5yo DD who wasn't going to ride rides like the TOT, Movie Ride, or Star Tours it was a no brainer for us as we did not feel we were "wasting" one on it. When we were walking out of the sing along the next show was in an hour and people were already lined up for the next show. Granted it was only a few people but I was surprised there were already people lined up. Didn't seem like there was a bad seat and people were coming in last min after the crowd had come in.

I was there Veteren's day and got in line about 20 min to the show and was among the last to get in.

There are not many other options for a FP at HS. So, I don't consider the A&E sing along a "waste". One could argue the other options are a waste, like Star Tours, because the lines are not long during non-peak times.

I don't know if the Sing-a-long FP+ is 'needed', but it was the most interesting option for us after Toy Story Midway Mania and Star Tours (We're going mid-January too!). We have experienced the other options (LMA, Muppets) and I didn't think we would need a FP+ for those (we'll either do them or not depending on the wait). At least the Frozen Sing-a-long will be new for us. So I guess it depends on what you would use the FP+ for, if not the Sing-a-long.

We did the show (I think 11:30) without FP+ in October without issue, but 15 minutes may not be early enough. I think we were there 15 or 20 minutes ahead of time. When they opened the theatre probably 15 or 20 minutes before the show started (it was just a couple of minutes after we got in line), they sent the FP+ line in first, and then the standby line in right after the end of that line. We were in the back section on the bleachers, but I liked the view from there. Be aware that if you get a FP+, that is not going to let you get in later- and if you come too late, you may wind up standing. The show we were at, there were a bunch of FP+ people that came up after the standby line had already been allowed to enter, several even showed up about 5 minutes before the show started. They had to let those people in because they had FP+, but a lot of them watched the entire 30 minute show standing on the left side as there were no seats left. If you have a FP+, you need to be in the line before they open the theatre for seating.

We booked one for our upcoming trip. My DD8 is a Frozen NUT, so I figured it would be better to have it booked than to be sorry!

If it's something you want to see I would get a FP. We were there last week on a very low crowd day and the fast pass line was still ridiculously long. Not sure how many stand by people got in, but I could easily see them not all getting in. Also seating will be really far back without fp.

We just were there during a "low crowd" time and although FP wasn't necessary to get in, I would have definitely used one had a I know for better seating.

The FP section is closer to the front in regular theater seats vs SB on bleachers behind that. I had a FP in medium crowd times and arrived only 10 min before show time with our FPs (not intentional - potty emergency!). FP section was full except for single seats here and there and we had to sit in front row of bleacher seats instead of FP area (still a fine view) one more difference is the fake snow that falls is more on the FP seats than SB. I'm not sure if any really falls on SB at all, or we only even got some because we were near FP and it drifted. This was a 10:30ish show.

We did not use a FP. Got there about 20 minutes early and stood in a very long line. But, the theater is big, and we got in with no problem. All the good seats were gone, we could either sit to the side or in the bleachers in the back. We sat on the side and it was fine.

I have one for December as I can usually walk on Star Tours and also have Tower of Terror. Not much interested in anything else I could get a FP for.

Our family did FP for the show last Tue and Thu, both relatively slow days. Tue we arrived from Streets of America side, and about 10 min into our FP window, but they had already started letting in standby and would not allow us to cross over the FP line. By the time we did, only seats available where the bleachers in back or behind one of the two large poles on the side. It was ok, but not the same as Thu - we returned early at FP start window and from Muppets side to get in FP line. They did hold stand by until most in FP were in the theater, but they do not hold for the full FP window time. We were seated in the middle floor section, much better and closer viewing and enjoyable location.

This past Saturday we had a fast pass for the first show of the day and did not need it. However the very next show that morning we would have needed it. The line was unbelievably long as we were exiting the theater.
