FP+ Mom not riding - What to do?

We'll be back in WDW next month for my graduation trip, and it's our first time using FP+. I'm going with my mom and 2 sisters, but my mom is NOT a thrill-seeker at all.

I've booked FP+ for all four of us just as a default, but I think the only one she will use is Peter Pan. Maaaaaybe Star Tours. However, I think she'd rather wait in line with us and use a "chicken exit" on rides like Splash, Coaster, etc.

Should I keep her FP+ even though she won't be riding with us, just so she can get through the scanner? On the one hand, it doesn't seem fair to "use up" a FP+ someone else may want. On the other, what if the CM doesn't let her through the queue with us? That could result a lot of "family vacation" time spent waiting alone for her... :confused3

She will need the Fp+ to go through the queue with you. Don't worry about not using the Fp+ as intended; because your Mom won't use a seat on the ride, it opens up a seat for another Fp+ holder or a Standby guest.

Perfect! Thank you for the quick response, and easing my guilt! :goodvibes

They won't let her through the line without a FP+, so I would leave it like you have it. Otherwise she will spend alot of time waiting around for you.

If, on the otherhand, she doesn't mind waiting- someone else in your party can borrow her magicband and use her FP.

You can do what you already suggested - have her get in line with you. But those waits are relatively short and you do waste a fast pass for it.

Another option is for you to split up for a bit. Set up your pre-planned thrill ride FP+'s back to back. You and your sister take off and enjoy those rides. You mom get's some down time to wander the park at her pace, shop, see a show or ride things you're not interested in. She can even use her FP+'s on things like Small World that might not interest you and your sister much. I know separating means less time together, but a block of "free" time is easier to fill compared to keeping busy for an unknown amount of time while someone does a ride.

Your mom will probably enjoy the chance to do just what interests her for a few hours. And when you get back together you'll have stories to share.
